[12:38 am]

“I have a partner!” The brunet boy drunkenly exclaimed as you shut the door behind you. The boy who also happened to be your boyfriend.

Leading him over towards the bed, you watched as he stumbled over his own feet and promptly fell face first into the mattress. 

“I have a partner.” He repeated, voice muffled by your sheets. 

Rolling your eyes at his drunken state, you began to try and get him to be laying on his back—and move so that his entire body was on top of the bed—which was much harder than it looked like. Trying to carry his body weight was hard enough but add in the fact that he was actively trying his best to protest your every move and your night out suddenly became a workout.

After fifteen minutes of struggling to pull his body upwards so that it wasn’t only his upper body on the bed, you had managed to get to his knees before finally giving up. Letting out a sigh, you had collapsed onto the bed and coincidentally, right on top of him.

“No no no,” He began, arms moving up to push you off of him before sticking his pointer fingers up. “I have a partner.” 

“Fundy-”

“How do you know my name?” He stumbled over his words, eyes barely managing to stay open as he turned to look at you.

“I am your partner.” 

Fundy tilted his head slightly before bringing a hand up towards your face. Instead of cupping your cheek or chin like he would’ve when sober, his drunken self decided to facepalm your entire face instead. 

“(Y/N)!” He said happily when he finally realized it was you. A smile overtook his features and even in his drunken state, the same way he always looked at you—bursting with love and admiration—still shone, bringing a smile to your own face. 

“Hey Funds.” 

You watched as the brunet pushed his body upwards so that he was now laying fully on the bed, something which you had struggled to do just seconds prior, before opening his arms. “Cuddles?” 

You bit back a laugh. He was often not so vocal about wanting to cuddle but it appears that all it took was alcohol for the unreasonable fear of rejection (that would never come from you) to go away. 

“One second.” You said as you got up from the bed to go turn off the lights before joining him back in bed. 

His arms wrapped around your frame securely, holding you close to his chest as you both laid there silently in the dark. Every few seconds he’d mumble something you couldn’t quite decipher into your hair but aside from that, all you could hear from your bedroom were the soft sounds of your breathing. And from the way you were positioned, your face nearly buried in his chest, you could hear his heartbeat slowly slow to a steady rate before soft snores filled your ears. It didn’t take long afterwards for you to have been lulled to sleep with the arms of your lover wrapped safely around you.

making a single advancement takes seemingly forever

you sigh as you pause the game and turn to your camera, looking directly into the lens

“fundy, you’re a fantastic programmer, don’t get me wrong, but right now? you suck. you’re actually the worst.”

your chat goes wild and you smile as you end your stream, closing twitch

it’s not even half a day later when you get a dm on twitter

and you open your phone to see a message from the very source of your frustrations

you gape down at your phone screen, a devious smile crossing your face

oh, you are so on, fox boy.

just like that, the two of you stumble into a whirlwind of friendship

you start acting as fundy’s tester for all of his new, whacky plug-ins for the game

and he absolutely eats up your reactions as you struggle to play as you normally would

soon enough, every single video the two of you put out on your channels include the other

and it doesn’t take long for the internet to start forming theories

as overjoyed as some of the fans are at the very prospect of you and fundy dating

you can’t bring yourself to be upset

because deep down, you know that you wish they were right

then one day, fundy sends you a text of a single picture

your jaw drops when you open it up

it’s a plane ticket to your city

you reply with a barrage of typos and exclamation marks, and his heart swells at the sight

he can’t wait to see you

and see you he does, just two weeks later

you practically run him over at the airport, tumbling into his arms with a wide grin, his expression mirroring your own

there is no awkward phase of having first met each other and everything comes together just as it was before

you think you like him even better in person, and the racing of your heart only increases with each passing day

the day he leaves, he takes your hand in his and turns to you with a serious look in his eye

“will you go out with me?”

the word yes flies from your lips in a flurry of rosy cheeks and squeezing hugs

he may have flown back to the netherlands, but even now, your relationship is as strong as ever

you never go a day without talking about him and you’re constantly texting, chatting about everything and nothing at once

your streams continue as they always do, with you trying out his new codes and playing minecraft together just like before

but people start to notice the more affectionate tone you take on with each other

your chat starts asking more and more questions about fundy, and it gets harder and harder to keep a calm reaction when they keep bringing him up

you like him too much for that

it takes a little longer for the two of you to reveal your relationship

but when you do, everyone—and i mean everyone—practically blows up

“you guys are taking this a lot better than i thought you would,” you laugh as your chat becomes a mess of emojis and pogchamps

“for the record,” fundy’s voice echoes through your headphones, “they’ve been shipping us ever since they told you to try that first difficulty of mine.”

you lean back in your chair. “you do have a point.”

you can hear the grin in his voice as he speaks. “they always knew, didn’t they?”

You were Fundy’s closest friend on the SMP. Everything he did, you supported him in. You were his shoulder to cry on when his dad was absent and his most trusted ally. That’s why, what he felt now was so complex.

You hadn’t been as oblivious as he thought. You noticed the way his tail tucked around himself a bit whenever you laughed with your full chest.You saw the blush that crept across his cheeks when you teased him. It was obvious Fundy liked you as a little more than a friend. Maybe it was due to being a fellow hybrid, but you felt the connection too.

You watched as he approached you the morning before the green festival. Tensions were high, but he knew if he didn’t make a move now, he might not ever. You did your best to keep your welcoming smile lighthearted, offering a small “hey” to the fox hybrid. Your nose twitched a little, catching a different smell from him, something flowery you hadn’t smelled before.

Your ears big bunny ears perked when his hands jerked forward. A bundle of different colored flowers was clutched in his clawed hands. “I-I really like you,” he blurts, avoiding eye contact with you. You couldn’t help but start to laugh at him, the tension of the SMP’s situation melting from your mind.

Fundy looks at you then surprised by your noise. “I like you too Fundy,” you respond, taking the flowers from his grip.

“Really?!” he gapes, tail definitely “not” wagging and ears perking. “You’re not messing with me?”

Again, you laugh at the fox before you. You lean forward and press a kiss to his heated cheek. “Never Fundy.”

Fundy stared at the communicator in his hand, unable to avert his eyes from the yellow words staring back at him. 

This couldn’t be true. 

It had to be a prank, right?

Someone must’ve messed with his communicator device. 

You couldn’t possibly be dead, not when he has already lost everyone who meant something to him. 

First his mother, then his father, then his friends, and now you.  

The device slipped out of his hands, falling to the ground with a thud snapping him back to reality. Back to the reality that you were really gone, just like everyone else in his life. 

“Fundy?” 

So maybe not all his friends. 

Turning around, Fundy was met with a familiar endermen hybrid. He looked at the fox with a sorry look but before he could say anything, Fundy turned his back on him and looked through his chests.

“Fundy- where are you going with that sword?” Ranboo already knew the answer but he wished to be wrong. 

“To pay Dream a little visit.” 

He had hoped that Fundy would have said anything but that but there wasn’t much he could do to stop him. Not when the fox was already walking out the door, maxed out sword in hand, as he headed to wherever Dream would be. 

It felt like ages before Fundy finally reached the end of the forest. The sword rested comfortably in its sheath on his waist as he walked out the path and towards the clearing on top of a hill that he knew the green bastard would be standing on. 

“Took you long enough.” He said once Fundy had reached the top. His back was facing him with his arms resting by his sides. It wasn’t until Fundy reached for his sword that  Dream turned around and grabbed his axe. He wore his signature porcelain mask though it’s usual white colour was stained crimson near the bottom of his mask and on spots of his neck. The dried blood seemed like a cruel joke, as if Dream was taunting him.

“Do you think you could still hurt me?” 

“I can kill you-”

“Then go ahead. You’ve already killed the last person who loved me, I don’t have anything else to live for.” 

Dream couldn’t say that he was surprised at Fundy’s response. A part of him was sure that he'd be more angry, have that same fire in his eyes that his father once had. The same fire he needed for his plan to work but he also could understood why he wasn’t there yet. All he needed was some roughening up. 

“You can help me.” He offered, putting his axe down as an act of peace to offer the fox hybrid his hand.

Fundy only scoffed, grip tightening on the handle of his sword before pointing it up at Dream. “I would rather die than be a part of your sick plans.” He said before swinging at the masked man.

His sword just barely grazed Dream’s cheek. Had he not taken a step back, Fundy would have been able to make him bleed. 

The sound of metal hitting each other mixed with the sounds of heavy panting went on for what felt like hours before Dream had finally had enough and disarmed him easily. Caught off guard, he was able to knock Fundy down to his knees before pointing the tip of his blade at his neck. 

“I am done playing your games, now are you going to help me or not?” He said in an irritated tone. Expecting for him to finally give in, he didn’t seem to notice him grab a dagger and tackled him to the ground with the blade pressed against his neck. 

The next moment seemed to go by in a blur. One second he was on the ground with Fundy holding a dagger to Dream’s neck, pressed just hard enough to draw blood, but then he felt the hybrid's body fall limp on top of him. It wasn’t until he caught a glance at a tall blonde standing a few feet away that he realized what had happened. Grabbing his fallen communicator, Dream didn’t know whether or not to be angry at the mercenary.

Somewhere farther away from all the chaos, Fundy woke up on the soft grass where the sun shone softly on his face. Getting back onto his feet, he instinctively went to reach for his sword only to frown when he realized it was no longer on him. 

A wave of panic rushed over him as he searched the area for it only to freeze in his steps when he heard a familiar voice. “You’re an idiot you know?”

(Y/N)…” Turning his head around, he barely gave you any time to properly react before pulling you into his arms. A smile grew on his face as he heard you laugh become quickly muffled before wrapping your own arms around him. 

“You’re still an idiot.” You mumbled which only caused him to laugh and wrap his arms tighter around you. 

“But I’m your idiot.” He replied as he let go, causing you to punch his arm. “Ow what was that for.” 

“Getting yourself killed that’s what.” You huffed, choosing to ignore how he rolled his eyes. 

“You can yell at me all you want but only after you show me around this place.” Fundy said, reaching for your hand and guiding you towards the edge of the hill he had woken up on. It’d be night time and you’d probably still not be done scolding him but he wouldn’t say that aloud. 

Sighing at the change in topic, you agreed and intertwined your fingers with his before leading him down the hill towards what looked like a village in the distance hand in hand. He smiled as he barely registered what you were saying about the village you were leading him too. All he cared about was being with you again.
