shaggy inkcap (Coprinus comatus)

Mature on the left, more juvenile on the right. Young, it's edible! As it ages, the gills 'melt' into a black, spore-filled liquid, and the rest of the mushroom follows.

Fellas what do we think this is? My friend just sent me this and i hate doing fungi IDs from photos 😫

I suspect it’s a hen of the woods past its prime, or maybe an old cauliflower mushroom.

A fly agaric mushroom growing in my backyard gravel :) Such a cool yellowy gradient. I’ll try take some more pictures of it fully red.
