The big news in Ireland right now is that a dolphin has gone missing.
Fungie the Dolphin is the world's oldest living solitary bottlenose dolphin, and has been living near the town of Dingle since 1983.
He's not trained or anything, and people don't even feed him, he's a wild dolphin who took to interacting with the local fisherman, and later boat tours, kayakers, swimmers and divers.
He interacts with humans with such regularity that a gap of 5-6 hours with no sighting is cause for concern, and Fungie has only been spotted once since Wednesday morning.
It's been reported that a pod of Bottlenose dolphins has entered the bay in which Fungie usually resides, which locals have speculated has either temporarily scared Fungie off or prompted Fungie to spend time with his own species.
Either way, the entire nation is concerned for the welfare of this dolphin.
