Okay, so initial estimate for Amalgam is that it adds 470 characters to the tree, purely counting the Amalgams and their DC components.

This is not counting any Marvel characters that get linked into the tree via Amalgams, nor the families of these DC Characters.

Local Trans Woman Laid Off AGAIN! Help?

Well another job has come and gone, the indie company I worked for shuttered their entire social and marketing department (which included me) yesterday and I'm back to job hunting.

They laid me off with no severance and only "paying out my last two weeks" as part of my final pay. So things are once again going to get tight financially around here and I hadn't even been able to financially recover from the previous layoff I suffered.

I have found possible two other comics companys that may have done an Amalgam with Marvel: Malibu Comics and Valiant Comics.

I am going to have to look into this further, but not tonight.

Malibu Comics was purchased by Marvel, because Malibu was already printing with the newer color printing processes, and Marvel wanted their technology know-how (basically, what software were they using and what template files they had), so they could jump-start into the newer printing process.

So they were able to go from the Ben-Day dot printing process, to full CMYK printing quickly.

Oh, I'm aware Marvel had purchased Malibu Comics. There's already a few Malibu Comics characters on the Family Tree already, because Adam Warlock is the genetic progenitor of half of Gemini, who's other half derives from Rune.

But I think they might have merged some people as well.

Dude, so I just watched all of ‘Skibidi Toilet’ on a whim, and there’s LORE. Like ‘Transformers’ level lore: the whole thing is about an alien invasion from those Skibidi creatures whose life support systems happen to resemble Earth toilets and who sing their national anthem while fighting, and once you get past that, it is a mecha anime, and a good mecha anime, with a revolving door of characters as the war goes on. Also humanity upgrades themselves with camera heads.

Like once you get past the first five minutes, it goes from ‘the hell is this’ to PEAK: I understand now why Michael Bay wants to make a film series out of it: it’s exactly his cup of tea. Like it goes from lasers and fire to just repeatedly knifing one of the Skibidis through the throat and eyes to kill them: I got chills.

I've never watched it myself but I did know this, and yeah Michael Bay absolutely makes sense.
