Last cat in the clan!!! We'll be moving onto the important dead/ historic cats of briarclan

Fungusroot is the grumpy elder but a great storyteller. She is the youngest elder in the den but not by much. She used to be named finchrise, but for unknown circumstances, she changed her name to Fungusroot. Some suspect it was due to her bad luck. As a warrior, she had a mate named featherfur. He died from a disease a few days after finchrise discovered she was expecting. She gave birth to 3 kits, two being stillborn and one surviving to apprenticeship. Her only surviving kit eventually lost his life in battle. You can probably imagine that she became very sad and angry, especially with starclan. She is snappy with pretty much anyone but kits, who she adores. She took pretty long to retire as well. It wasn't until she was nearly killed in a border skirmish when she was finally forced into retirement.

Taking a walk through the Mossman Gorge area of the Daintree National Park it was interesting to hear the stories of the Kuku Yalanji culture which portrayed a deep respect of nature and knowledge of the local cycles. The eco-tourism centre run by the Indigenous Land Corporation and Mossman Gorge Aboriginal Community was wonderful. One of the systems put into place to preserve the area was to reduce traffic heading into the gorge by organising a shuttle bus to transport tourists. Also great to see was that the boardwalks, picnic furniture and car park bollards were made using re-purposed plastic from industrial and domestic waste sources.
