Finchpaw

“Anyway Finchpaw,” Blackpaw spoke up, clearly trying to get the apprentice to talk about something else. “What do you think your warrior name will be?” “Well, I’m awesome, so I’m bound to get something cool,” she joked. “I’d like Finchpounce, or Finchtalon, or Finchsoar, or Finchclaw, or Finch—” “We get the idea, thank you,” Specklepaw mewed.

Finchpaw is one of the main characters of The Burning Light. When Sunny and Blossom first arrived in ThunderClan, it was Finchpaw who first approached them with the intent of becoming friends. From then on, they've been close with not only her but the rest of the ThunderClan apprentice group, other than Pinepaw of course. Energetic, friendly, and humorous, Finchpaw is widely loved across ThunderClan.

Time for another fanfic character to get an updated sheet! This time it's Finchwing, my sweet medicine cat boy <3 As a reminder, I was inspired to start updating some of these old reference sheets both for the sake of commissions, and when recently I stumbled across something - my fanfic series Echoes of the War has its own trope page!

For his physical description, Finchwing is described as a large, thick-set, fluffy tom with a torn ear. The ear tear is from Breeze and his rogues marking one apprentice from each Clan to frighten them into taking him seriously, for those who don't recall. He's a large boy like his mom (at least she is in my fanfic - turns out in canon she's small, oops XD), it's always fun trying to juggle keeping a cat looking stocky but also tall, I think I managed it well here. :D He's got a wise look to him, if that makes sense.

For his pattern, Finchwing is described as a golden tabby tom with white markings and yellow eyes. I kept the pattern the same, just shifted the colors a bit so they weren't as orange as his more recent design or as green-y yellow as his older design, but still feels right for him and feels like just a more realistic version of his oldest design. I also made his eyes more yellow-ish, as I felt the older color felt too amber.

Overall, I'm really pleased with how he turned out
