Finchkit is my favorite random background character because she represents all Windclan could’ve been. Interesting tunnelers who are off putting mole cats who live underground and only come above during the rains like worms. But the Erins went nooo we can’t have an interesting clan we gotta take away your lore and make you hufflepuff because blahblahblah whine whine whine. No! Windclan could be interesting and an interesting foil to skyclan. One under the earth and one in the canopy. But no skyclan has to be boring-saved by-thunderclan-ooo-look-at-thunderclan-so-special-clan.

ive never understood the windclan hufflepuff comparison bc windclan have been incredibly stressed out and in conflict with everyone forever and i also had to google finchkit and i feel like the erins forgot how fetal a newborn kitten is because she’s not walking up to tallstar to give him a life. they can’t walk their eyes and ears are glued shut.so i took creative liberties. but i do enjoy a “haunted by my dead twin” vibe even if i think it is really creepy for that twin to be living up in heaven with the consciousness and wisdom of an adult in a newborns body. if i was tallstar i would have been retraumatised LOL. I love the vision of windclan you present it reminds me of the way moonclan is in saltburns clan by @nanistar

there’s something about firestar saving skyclan that i enjoy in a way that’s like… they could have sent some cats to go help skyclan any time. in fact they could have fixed a lot of their problems any time. but it’s as if they thought oh you know what. this kid can fix any problem. i bet he can go clean up this mess too. they didn’t need firestar to do that but they never considered doing it until he was there with his little prophecy that made them think it was possible. motivational problems

Got sick of drawing Wren for the next moon update and asks so instead I drew more SpottedClan! These are Lilacnose’s mate and kits.

Robinkit, Thrushkit, and Finchkit were found by the medicine cats with their dead mother. Lilacnose felt horrible for the kits and decided to adopt them as his own.

Later that day the medicine cats went out again and returned with Jerry, Warmkit, Lightkit, and Shinekit. Jerry had a rough kitting and would’ve died if he hadn’t been brought to the clan. He agreed to nurse and adopt Lilacnose’s kits, and the two grew close, soon becoming mates. All of the kits are the same age and see each other as littermates. Finch and Light are my favs. All of the kits are male.

In canon, Tallstar’s ill-fated sister is described as a ginger she-cat. She has some black on her here in the interest of genetic accuracy.

Fun fact: I represented her eyes as bluish here since she died before her eyes could fully color; had she lived her eyes would have been greenish-yellow.
