fun fact: my first assumption of your username way back when i first started following you was that you were making an unfaltering statement that varda vapes haha–(not sure if I was right or wrong in that assessment but i’m pretty sure it’s influenced my design for varda since i like to draw her all wispy and without a completely physical form)

IT WAS IN PART ACTUALLY!! in fact, my first blog header was also ‘star smoke-rings: the elves drove varda to pipeweed trufax’

but in another part, it was because i was SO FASCINATED by the description of varda creating the stars from telperion’s dew and like, imagining her inventing chemistry in the sky, evaporating Liquid Starlight into steam and cooking and incinerating and condensing out concentrated self-perpetuating precipitates of stars n stuff........i’m obsessed w star-adjacent content

May I ask what this means?

It’s like when people are perfectly content to support/engage in 47284 iterations of a pattern of behavior that has been harmful/victimized people, as long as the surface-level identities of the people doing the hurting/being hurt are different from those of the one or two iterations of this pattern they have been been told is Bad. like the moral equivalent of knowing that you’re supposed to stop at a sign shaped like a red octogon that says STOP in white letters because people have told you that you’re supposed to, but unable to figure out what to do if you saw a sign shaped like a yellow pentagon that says HALT in black letters.
