Famous twentieth century psychology professors designing an experiment: “What if we tortured people”
Welcome to crappy doodleville where I draw low quality Beetlejuices to keep my mind off the thunder outside(:
Here’s something fun! Correlation heatmaps show where variables are strongly dependent either positively (oranger colors) or negatively (bluer colors) on each other.
Some things are obvious: hits, kudos, word count, and bookmarks are all strongly connected. Some things are not so obvious. Let’s take a look at ATLA’s most popular fics for example. Top 10 Ships and Top 10 tags are inversely correlated with the number of days a fic has been completed. This means that new ships and new tags are dominating the scene! (Do I spy Zukka Nation at work?)
Compare this with BNHA, where the bluest squares connect chapters and word count with days live. So in that fandom, it looks like older one-shots are common in the top 380 fics.
What other trends do you see?
So here’s a little fun fact about Ori. While Ori is the name I ended on it was indeed her original wip name and flower. However for quite sometime I had changed her name to Suni (sunflowers) and her colors would have been entirely different. In the end I went back to Ori and I’m pretty happy I did ^^.
