Here is the drawing for the @scrawlrbox of September: "Feeling Buggy"
Funny Bee is such a cute, beautiful name for a cosmetics company. Probably, one cannot imagine the strong philosophy behing such a sweet name: cosmetics should not only be effective on your skin, but also really safe for the health and considerate of the environment. This statement especially refers to bees, since their dead rate is rising from pollution. Man, I love bees! They are so hardworking and good for us. This French company takes its share of responsibility and act at its own level to contribute to a better world. So yes, apart from reviewing one of this team's products, I felt that it was necessary to introduce you to their wonderful philosophy as well.
In order to review their Pretty BB Cream, let me start with this: some steps in my review-writing process include: patch tests, hand swatches and first impression key ides. When I was doing the patch test, I was ashtonished. Same happened with the hand swatch, which led to the following keywords: smells divine, dewy finish, looks orange but matches well, airy and thin, soft to the touch. Dreamy, right?
Indeed, this BB Cream/Radiant Glow Moisturizer feels extraordinarily good on the face. Being 100% organic, that's really all you have to ask. However, when I first put it on my whole face, one word came to my mind: patchy. I was so confused, as it looked so good on the hand swatch! On the face, pigments seemed too heavy for the actual cream, so they concentrated on some areas, leaving others alone. Oh, the horror.
It actually took me several attempts to realize that this cream needs an applying technique of its own. First of all, dry skins need prior moisturization. Next, the trick is covering small areas at a time, since the base is absorbed very quickly. This way the pigments are evenly distributed. For more coverage, layering is needed. The result is very good, homogeneous and long lasting, but it requires some time - not something you can do in a rush.
Basically, this BB Cream is for the kind of people that have time to prep their makeup and like it organic, no matter your skin type - yet particularly good for the sensitive ones. Next up in my Funny Bee's list? Swinging Morning. Chapeau!
Bientôt l'été!
