Happy 1,096 days

Since "the big event" in my life. 3 years (plus he one day for leap year) and I have made it around the sun 3 times since then. My body has recreated my skin cells 41 times since then, making the skin i have now, skin that "he" has never touched. Because of what happened 1096 days ago, I have Lost: sleepless nights, my mothers trust, probably liver cells from drinking, pretty skin from trying to scratch mine off (& making scars), confidence, faith In men, trust in people, optimism... Found: myself. The woman I am now. This confidence. This assurance in what I want & who I am. Faith in Christ. A purpose. A sense of what I want to fight for. ME. Screw you for taking 2 years away from me. I hope you never touch another human being. I don't forgive you, but thank you for teaching me that I can only save myself and I'm a fighter.
