Basic tips for beginner furry artists
How to replace the straps and add a wire to a pre-made face mask
Not art related, but I made a tutorial!
Forgot to post these. I followed a tutorial on how to draw furries and I think I did pretty well.
how to draw a dog paw: a tutorial
This is a picture process of how I made my fursuit head: (also, among other things, make sure you have LOTS of sewing pins/safety pins, and LOTS of hot glue sticks) I put elastic on the balaclava base around the head and jaw (check matrices for ref) I printed the pattern to scale and cut foam, either 1-inch or 3-inch cut in half for some parts I shaped the foam pieces and glued them onto the balaclava base. The pattern isn't 100% accurate, especially depending on ones head shape, so you'll want to have extra foam to glue to the forehead, around the eyes, etc. For furring, I destuffed like 7 old stuffed animals and used their fur. I planned all the fur pieces out on each part of the foam (making sure the fur faces the right way), and glued once I was sure that was where I wanted them to go. For the eyes, I took buckram, fun foam, and paint pens. I colored the iris and pupil with paint pen and sharpie, then glued the buckram behind a square of fun foam with a circle cut for the iris. I then shaped it for the eyehole and glued carefully onto the furred socket (I burned my fingers a lot during this process) Finally, I made sure everything was securely glued, ran a comb through the fur to get spare tufts out, and picked off any hot glue strings and globs that remained.
Such a cute little tutorial!
