Lil Chadwick is a spunky bun with some real attitude. But mostly he's a sweetie when I'm not trying to get him to eat after surgery. He's the little fellow who was surrendered a few days ago. Anaesthetics can cause loss of body temperature regulation, so after surgery, it's important to keep an eye on bunny temp. Also, the post-surgical pain and opiates used for pain control can disrupt digestion. So it's important to make sure your animal eats and drinks consistently after a surgery. Finally, there's the surgical site. Keep it clean. Check on it at least daily. Watch for excessive bleeding. (Seepage usually occurs; excessive means it goes "drip drip drip") Watch that the stitches don't get loose. Keep an eye out for infection signs. #bunny #rabbit #spayandneuter #postsurgery #healing #fussyeater https://www.instagram.com/p/CEpqF3gDck3/?igshid=c8nip43i6y4u
