My pen is out of ink.

Why is it out of ink? I can't remember using it that much. I can't look inside the ink container, it's opaque.

I tried shaking it, scribbling with it, using friction too. But it won't work. My paper has scratching marks now, dented between the neat lines.

My pen is out of ink.

I know that. But why can't I stop trying?
