Future Elevators - Search Party (Indie Rock)
🕑 1 min / Text: Franklin Release Date: May 03, 2024 This track literally feels like waking up from a beautiful dream. So smooth, trippy, and nostalgic at the same time. I really enjoyed listening to Future Elevators's latest release 'Search Party,' a psychedelic indie rock jam with fantastic surf and lo-fi influences. Unfortunately, there's not much information on the artist or band, but the music absolutely speaks for itself. Give it a shot! Future Elevators - “Machine Maker”
SXSW 2017 - OEB Score: 7; Popularity Index: 2
Pairs Well With…Washed Out, Lewis Del Mar, Belle & Sebastian
Future Elevators has extended from the solo project of Alabama native Michael Shackleford to a full band throughout 2016, a needed move given the layered instrumentals on his debut full-length, released last spring. Based in chilled out synth pop, guitar and drums give tracks like new-wave echo “Rome on a Saturday” or “Alabama Song”, an Americana ballad that still keeps an airy, floating quality that permeates throughout the record. It reaches far too, an experimental touch blurring genre lines - blues and pop on “It Is What It Is”, folk and R&B on “Narcosis” - a fusion mentality to a singer-songwriter record. The bedroom pop, DIY twist keeps Future Elevators’ music sonically interesting, expanding with creative zeal without losing a sense of understatement.
