assuming you’ve played ffviir, what are your hopes for rufus in the next instalments?

I've played FF7R all the way through at least half a dozen times and I've gotten the platinum trophy. GET AT ME.

So, my hopes for Rufus in the next installments. Let's see...

I'm curious how they'll re-work Rufus' Welcoming Ceremony song. I wonder if it'll tie into his battle music, but there's a neat version HERE.

One of my favorite scenes is in the Northern Crater when Cloud is losing his shit and Rufus is just hanging out, watching it all unfold. Then when the Weapons wake up, he says "Whatever I say now, is too little, too late. We must evacuate." That line always stuck with me. Maybe because I thought it was cute he rhymed. Or maybe because it's the moment shit well and truly hits the fan and he ends up saving ALL OF THEM. I dunno. That moment always just struck me and I think it's when I actually started taking a fancy to him.

But the moment I completely and truly fell in love is when he's standing at the window, staring down Diamond Weapon, and it zooms into his eyes, determined and angry, before he's struck down.

And I was so desperately sad after that because I literally just fell in love and then thought I lost him forever...

Do you know how fucking happy I was to see him alive in Advent Children? I screamed!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to that moment as well, even though it's going to hurt so bad.

I actually hope we get to see that part, where he takes cover underneath his desk and finds the escape route. I can see that scene perfectly in my head. When he drops down, the camera pans over the opening, to show you what happened to him, and the scene just fades to black. Then in another scene, closer to the end, you get this shot of him as he leans against the keypad, crunching on painkillers. You hear him sigh and watch him run a hand through his hair as he tries to guess the code. And maybe the final frame is the door opening and him falling through it, greeting the Turks. Then the camera pans back to the keypad as they fuss over him in the background and we see the code and HIS BIRTHDAY is finally revealed. Please just fucking tell us his birthday so I can bake a cake dedicated to him every year. Kidding, but not.

I feel like I need to see that or something along those lines or I'll worry they really killed him off this time.

That is a tiny fear of mine that hangs out at the back of my mind and taunts me occasionally -- that they'll actually kill him off in Remake. I made a dumb post about that too, HERE.

Y'all notice a trend here? Me and my dumb little posts. But how dumb are they really? Seriously. I can't wait for the next installments so we can all see who was way off in their theories and who was astonishingly accurate.

Really? I just want more Rufus. And if it's possible, make him even sexier. Have him take off the coat, remove the tie, roll up his sleeves to his elbows, and run a hand through his hair. I want to see him look absolutely menacing. We got fun, flirty Rufus in the battle and then a confused, pissed-off, "what the hell is going on" Rufus when he couldn't make sense of the Whispers. But I want to see him mad. I want to see him in business mode, barking orders at folks, and watching them cower. I WANT TO SEE HIM IN ALL HIS PRESIDENTIAL GLORY.

Do you think there's any chance at all that all three, Kougami, Akane and Ginoza will live?

Of course there’s a chance, but I think it varies a little. Ko’s the most likely to get himself killed. Whether you agree with his path or not, what he’s caught up in is far beyond anything he anticipated (he said so himself), and he’s playing with something worse than fire. Akane and Gino are a little more 50/50 and are entirely at the writers’ mercy whether they get themselves into trouble or not.
