I'm seeing so many mentions I don't understand of this white/black dude on my dashboard I'm about to start watching not me only to finally get what's his deal. Only thing that's stopping me is that (from gifs only) it kinda looks like the prelude to a tragedy and I don't think I'm in the right mental space right now to watch another queer piece of media that ends up badly. So what do you say? Can I watch it without bawling my eyes out?
Hi, anon! Okay, so-- I don't think we're in for a tragedy, to be honest. I trust the writers NOT to go there. But I can't confidently tell you I'm 100% sure of what to expect.
I can't even consider the novel the show is based on to get an idea of how it's gonna end because show and novel are completely different 😅
What I can say is that this show is dealing with difficult topics and themes in a very delicate (and yet effective) way, and the writing has been so good so far that I trust it to deliver a good ending with no unnecessary tragedy.
I also think that a tragic ending wouldn't make sense? It would be way too bleak and that's not what Not Me is about IMO.
