The event was hosted by Thomas Auer (Transsolar) and Colin Ripley (Ryerson University Toronto) at the FutureCityLab in Berlin (AEDES gallery).

Manitoba Hydro considered several aspects to revitalize downtown Winnipeg with their new head office. This includes parking, staff cafeteria and other amenities. Together with key members of the design team and international experts we would like to discuss the achievements and what else could be done to reach a tipping point.

At the FutureCityLab in Berlin we will discuss the utopia of the Bilbao effect. Join us on the 27th of June at the AEDES gallery.

FutureCityLab Berlin Opening at AEDES gallery

If you are in Berlin, make sure to stop by the AEDES Gallery to see the FutureCityLab exhibition. The exhibition will run until July 2nd with weekly workshops and lectures focused the latest ideas to future of the city.

Join our joint workshop with AEDES,FutureCityLab, Design 2.0 Meet up and Architectuul in order to built up the furniture and design the next revision. The workshop will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of June.

CROWD SOURCING A BOOK ...

for the FutureCityLab exhibition in Berlin every participant was supposed to hand in a book as an introduction to a future dialogue. My book is talking on how the "inter"net moment will have changed the city in 2050. The book is an extended version of an article I was writing for the Italian "L´Arca" magazine. I identify  4 trends: SHARING, CROWD SOURCING, CROWD FUNDING and GAMING. 

The answers on how this trends might affect our future are crowd sourced into a 120 page compendium ... come and visit the FutureCityLab in Berlin until the 5th of July in order to see this and other books.

Open Furniture

Over the last four weeks, OpenSimSim has crowdsourced designs for FutureCityLab in partnership with Eternit, Aedes Gallery, and BMW Guggenheim Lab in Berlin. We are proud to announce the three designs that will be fabricated and showcased at the exhibit. The designs are:

Phase 2 of OpenFurniture will start after the Future City Lab exhibit. The feedback generated from the crowd will provide the starting point for the next series of ideas and improvements to the open source design.
