goku would be an excellent farmhand not because he likes chores but because he believes in taking correct care of animals. and maintaining the organization of the farm indirectly supports their wellbeing. he treats chores like training and appreciates hard work and routine. the farm is a dairy farm so theyre not licensed to sell meat and it would be cheaper to purchase beef than to butcher it themselves so Goku learns to butcher out of the hope he might someday be able. but isnt allowed to because they can save money. needless to say he is elated when he goes out to hunt and brings back a feral hog or something

Okay think about it more. every time trunks comes over hes forced to contribute to farmwork as being essentially free labor so trunks hates coming over but gotens familys meals are mindblowing so he comes over anyway
