“I know you were really looking forward to it as well,” Fuyumi adds, tilting her gaze down. “I’m sorry.”

When Nemuri comes to, she’s lying on her back in the snow, and the most beautiful woman she’s seen in her life is kneeling over her. The woman’s mouth is moving, forming words, but all Nemuri can hear is a ringing in her ears and the pounding of her heart. She tries to focus on reading the woman’s lips, but that proves rather difficult when she may as well be facing an angel. She opens her mouth to apologize for the fact that she can’t hear what the woman is saying, because it’s truly a travesty that she can’t hear what is sure to be such a pretty voice. But instead, the words her mouth forms are, “You’re beautiful.”
