"Hey, Happy Starlight, yeah?" Hikari says, pushing forward a box that seems to clink with its contents. Inside are several jars of assorted jams and jellies, both savory and sweet, as well as pickled vegetables and, of course, homemade pesto. "Don't think I forgot about yer cravin'."

"One moment of thinking about a sauce too much and this happens..." says Cataleya with a giggle as she puts the jar back. "Thanks so much, Hikari... Just a moment, Mal and I put together something for you, too."

The box is set off to the side first before she starts to dig around in her backpack, which was set on the ground. She takes a moment to dig around in it, humming as she does, before she finds what she seeks.

Then, she holds out a parcel wrapped in paper and twine. "We crafted this for you together. We hope you will find it useful on your journey..."

Whenever Hikari should decide to open the gift, she will find a bespoke leather-bound journal held closed by a gold clasp. At the centre of the front cover, a bright orange gemstone is surrounded by embossed floral patterns that bear a strong resemblance to a certain bell-shaped flower.

anyways i can finally talk about The Comfort of a Laugh Track by Roar and how I relate this to Cecil (specifically my interpretation of post game Cecil which I will talk about eventually.)

But I think so much about how kind of hollowed out Cecil becomes in the end. It's supposed to be a happy ending, it's supposed to fulfill the happy ending trope that was so popular at the time (and honestly still is in Final Fantasy) of "and then he became king and got married."

Except these choices weren't Cecil's, he's basically back to square one and just doing what others say he should do. So we've got lyrics like:

Why is it so hard to speak To people I don't know? Is it something that you learn When constantly alone? When did I become a man Trapped inside a ghost?

Which I feel adequately describes how Cecil becomes post game and Especially in the after years. Because one must wonder: what might the state of his happiness be if he was so easily mind controlled?

And these lyrics:

If you could only see me now I know I'd disappoint somehow I'm stuck inside a fantasy Where I could be all you would need Will I live in shame of The things in the past that I should have done for you?

I think at this point, afterwards, when he wakes in a sweat one terrible night to realize just how miserable he feels in the life he let himself get pushed into because of his own passivity he would finally be self aware enough to realize he's not what everyone in his life at that exact point needs.
