I'm a few days late on this!! Happy 100th Birthday to #NOSFERATU!!! . Nosferatu premiered on March 4th, 1922 at the Berlin Zoological Garden, for a large society event - Das Fest des Nosferatu. The movie was directed by #FWMurnau & starred #MaxSchreck. . FUN FACT: The #BramStoker estate sued for copyright infringement & had all but a few copies of the film destroyed. Yet it survived & became part of the zeitgeist of horror films & pop culture. . If you couldn't tell I'm a BIG FAN of classic horror movies... . In 2014, I designed an art print of NOSFERATU for my solo show #SCREAMWITHME at @GalerieF. I drew NOS in profile with another drawing of his skeleton as a #glowinthedark layer. That was a lot of fun (and a lot of work)! Being someone who tries to use every part of the buffalo, I used the artwork for a patch, enamel pin (collab with @yesterdays.co), & a keychain! You can all that in my SHOP! . In 2019, I was commissioned by @kirkhammett and his management to create 2 posters for his #romitsalive at the @romtoronto in Canada! I knew NOS was a favorite of Kirk's so I pitched the vampire lurching over the #RoyalOntarioMuseum with a bunch of bats flying around. It worked! Kirk's social media dude asked if I knew the ROM had a permanent bat exhibit. No, I didn't. I was too dumb to lie. . @dj_jefecita and I got flown out to check out the exhibit and catch Hammett and Rob Trujilo's #theweddingband perform. Funny enough we ended up meeting the guys for breakfast while we were there. They also made ltd edition guitar picks with my art on them! SO CRAZY!!! . I don't usually post personal photos, but I've been slacking on my art so I did this sketch this evening and I'm kind of happy with it so far.

Yesterday was the 99th Anniversary of the release of #NOSFERATU !!!! Release date: March 4th, 1922 Director: #FWMurnau . This was one of the first #horrormovies to make an impression on me as a kid. Every Saturday morning I would watch #ShockTheater that was hosted by #TolouseNoNeck I LOVED that show! They aired edited horror movies. Mostly B or C grade. But sometimes they had gems like #NOSFERATU ! . Scroll through and you'll see various pieces where I drew #CountOrlok! . This print was done for my solo show #ScreamWithMe at @GalerieF back in 2014. I did a regular and variant. They both #glowinthedark. I guess that style inspired some folks to make millions...grumblegrumble. . Like a good hustler - I repurposed the art for an #embroideredpatch . In 2016 this became an #enamelpin collab with @YESTERDAYS.CO . They're long sold out. I hope to bring these back! The good folks at #YESTERDAYS even got a photo of @benfransham #Petyr from #WhatWeDointheShadows holding the pin! That made my year!!! THANKS @YESTERDAYS.CO !!! . I also drew him up as a piece of #tattooflash. When the world unfucks itself I'll start tattooing again! . Then, in 2019, I got hired by @KirkHammett @fearfestevil to design a poster for his other band #TheWeddingBand They played a private show at @cosmomusic and for his traveling exhibit #ROMITSALIVE at @romtoronto We both dig NOSFERATU and the original Spanish movie poster was a prized possession in the collection. The idea I presented to him was that Nosferatu was looming over the @romtoronto #RoyalOntarioMuseum - as if finally awakened after hundreds of years of sleep. And since the ROM has a well-known exhibit on bats I thought it would be cool to have vampire bat's escaping - ready to wreak havoc and do thy master's bidding. . In 2020 I collab'd with @UVDToys to produce the image as a keychain for the 2020 conventions...that got canceled. Ah well. At least we'll be releasing the #GHOSTBONER toy SOON!!! . I hope to do more with the character in 2021!!! . . **I have some of these pieces available in my shop.
