Ali stared at the other girl, her head resting on one open palm, while she gaze with all the adoration in the world at the club president.
âAli,â she corrected, after a moment, âMy nameâs Ali. Iâm...like you.â Standing up, the blonde looked around, âItâs really nice, that you set all this up for the club. Iâm really impressed.â After a brief moment of silence, however, â...But we both know what Iâm here to talk about. Your...your song...â Ali looked down, sniffling a little whilst the blonde attempted desperately to keep herself together,Â
â...You never had to try to get my attention, Monika. You always had it, since the very first time I started the game. I kept looking for a path to you, but when one didnât appear, I...â the tears finally began to fall, and she approached Monika, taking the other AIâs hands into her own, tenderly, â...Iâm sorry that I hesitated. So, so sorry...â
This was dumb. She was so busy. She was president of a club, she took piano lessons, she had so many activities and not to mention she probably had a social life outside of the club to take hold of. He felt more and more discouraged by the second. His hand gripped the couple of entrance tickets, pulling them out of his pocket to give context to the situation.
âI was wondering if you were busy tonight. Youâre probably busy tonight. Wow I sound weird right now, let me just say what I was going to say. They just renovated this park not too far away and I was wondering if you wanted to come? Theyâll have food and drinks and lots of pretty lights. If you are busy- which you probably are- do you know anyone who isnât? Iâd hate to see the extra ticket go to waste.â
She didnât really feel like she had a place now. A great war was looming and most everyone was training for the battle, except... for her.
It wasnât that Destiny didnât believe the battle would come. It also wasnât that she believed she wouldnât be needed. It was simply that... she was afraid? When it came to magic, yes, she was more than competent. Healing especially was her wheelhouse, as were other protective skills. But being on the front lines... she would choke and then others would be hurt trying to protect her.
It was why she had taken to spending most of her free time in the Radiant Gardens, doing what she could to help with the world restoration. Her presence wasnât questioned and she was accepted as just another helper. Just another worldly citizen (which, technically she was) doing her Part.
And maybe she was just being a little nosy as well.
Destiny had just been supposed to help clear out the clutter in Ansem the Wiseâs destroyed library; wandering off had not been part of her job detail. Despite that, the red-head had found herself wandering down a small, dusty hall that looked like it hadnât been traveled in years. The opening had been concealed with an illusory spell so that made sense, but it begged the question of why. What was the point of trying to âwall offâ an area that branched off his study?
The hall led to a dark room, illuminated only by a computer monitor. Unnerving? Slightly, and Destiny couldnât deny that part of her felt certain she should have left to get someone else. Leon, perhaps, or Cid or Aerith... and yet she stepped forward, curiosity getting the best of her as she took a seat at the computer.
A slight wiggle brought the screen fully to life, revealing-!... nothing all that interested. Just a blank desktop that lacked even a taskbar or a start-up menu. The only thing that she could see was a file labeled âHelp me.â
Which she went to click on-
                       - and brought up a... warning? One that, from the looks of it, was written by Ansem the Wise himself.
âDay 26 - Despite my best efforts, I have not been able to locate the source of free will that plagues this programming. Is this a side-effect of the Heart? If so, then why would that young girl be driven to cause such horrific actions?
Until I can better understand this, interacting with this programming is Unsafe and Unsound for Mind and Heart alike. I cannot bring myself to delete her, as it feels too akin to killing a Person. But...
If you are reading this, then I warn you - do not trust the words that she says. She will lie and deceive you, all in the name of getting you to trust her. To what end, I still am not sure.â
âWhat-â That... that was certainly a lot to take in. Destinyâs brow furrowed as she leaned in closer to the screen, peering at the letter when it vanished, replaced with a pink question box.
âWhat is your name?â
The thought of lying never even occurred to her. Destiny just blinked before hesitantly typing in- âD E S T I N Yâ. Enter.
Send me a  â ⏠â  and my muse will name 3 songs that sum up their feelings of your muse! | @fxbricatedrxality (so I didnât quite do thatâ these are more three songs that seem to (so far) fit their relationship since Destiny doesnât really have any thoughts of/towards Monika yet)
TOFUKU - DIGITAL GIRL
i think youâre curious about me where iâm from, what i like to eat things i love, and what i see and if iâm trapped behind this screenÂ
MARY ELIZABETH MCGLYNN/AKIRA YAMAOKA - YOUR RAIN
On the sidewalk of the cityAre my screams just a whisper?Busy people going nowhereSee me soak in the rainNo compassion, nothing mattersMy resistance is waningLike a flower in the basement waiting for a lonely death
EVANESCENCE - IMPERFECTION
I wanna lift you up into the light that you deserveI wanna take your pain into myself so you wonât hurt
Donât you dare surrenderDonât leave me here without youâCause I could neverReplace your perfect imperfectionÂ
Ali giggled quietly at Monikaâs reaction, beaming at her clear and evident excitement for everyone to share the cake. As Monika continued, Ali set the cake down on a nearby desk, and quickly coded something together in her hands. If she knew Monika as well as she thought she did, then she was probably salivating over the large cake before them.
Whirling around, Ali held out a slice that seemed to be especially carefully decorated with chocolate, to look as appealing as possible. âTa-da~!â the blonde announces proudly, âMy last surprise for today, but I tried to make it as well-written as I could. One special slice of cake, for the most special club-president.â
⥠+ Lines for Destiny? Or whoever you feel fits better!
Send⥠+ a word for a headcanon based around it! | @fxbricatedrxality
Lines. Everyone has them, even if they arenât quite aware that they do. Itâs the role they play, the part they have, the act they put on for others.
Destiny know this and feels that a personâs true self is hard to be judged based off the rote actions they take in order to keep up with appearances. People need to do that but itâs often not who they are. The actions they take and the lines they speak when theyâre truly free to be themselves are the ones that are more apt to use to judge someone by.
Scene with @fxbricatedrxality set in the âEveryday Studentâ verse. (DDLC Edition).
It was after school and almost time for the clubs to begin meeting, which of course meant that it was time for student council to start doing their rounds. Next up on the agenda was checking up on a relatively newer club that had been started. This school was never one for more intellectual topics like literature so having a club on the topic had taken a while to get started.
Onyx makes his entrance with as much fanfare as can be mustered, throwing the door open wildly and loudly with a confident smirk on his face. Ivory stood tall behind him carrying a stack of papers, a clipboard, pens, and what looked like a book or two. His eyes zero in on the person who has assumes must be in charge of the club.
âI apologize for the interruption but this is the literature club isnât it?â He introduces in a way that says he is in no way sorry for his dramatic entrance. âMy name is Onyx Cheshire and I represent the student councilâs interests. As I understand it your club is relatively new, is it not? Officially anyway. Well thereâs a few things weâre going to need to take care of. Ivory, if you would.â He snaps his fingers and heads right for the teacherâs desk, planting himself in the chair and hoists his feet up on the edge of the desk. He throws his hands behind his head and starts coolly analyzing the room.
Ivory held a steady but confident look to her- far more reserved than her outlandish counterpart but not stiflingly so. At over six feet tall she towered over most of her peers. âRight then,â She takes a step forward to Monika. âNow that youâre an official club Iâm sure you know thereâs a few things we need to make sure of, right? Donât worry, if you did want you needed to do to get approved in the first place, you should be fine.â
