NOVA SERVOPOULOS HAS ninety-nine problems but the Infected aren't one. Somehow, someway, whenever she encounters an Infected, they don't sense her. They just ignore her, like she's not even there. Her mother, Tess, has made her promise that she would never speak of it to another soul. Not even Joel knows, that's how important it was.

Tess cared too deeply for her daughter to become one of their failed experiments for a cure, she was not willing to let her daughter sacrifice herself for the rest of the world, even if it meant they'd continue to live like this. And to be fair, neither did Nova. She was born into this world and had grown up, far too used to it than she should be, and didn't want to leave her mother alone.

And then comes a fourteen-year-old girl with a smart-ass mouth that the leader of the Fireflies is desperate to keep safe and get across the country for, and that peaks Nova's interest. Her interest only grows when she finds out that the girl, Ellie, was bitten two weeks ago but has yet to turn into an Infected. The two are the same, yet completely different, and Nova wants to know more.

How could she possibly know right then and there that meeting Ellie Williams would be both the best and worst moment of her life?

OCs DESERVE BETTER -> James Allen (HBO The Last of Us) FC: Norman Reedus

“Look, I’ll help you west. But only because you have the kid with you. I can’t just leave a kid with only one person for protection in this shithole world. But you’re gonna owe me after this.”

Born and bred in the rural South, James Allen knows he’s somewhat a stereotype of Southerners. Horrible parents, noticeable drawl, growing up in one of the many trailer parks that littered the little backwoods area he called home. It likely didn’t help that he always had a fascination with motorcycles and mechanics, eventually leading him to join his local chapter of B.A.C.A (Biker’s Against Child Abuse).

When the Cordycep’s infection hits, he initially joins some of his other B.A.C.A members in trying to get children to quarantine zone’s safely, but within a few years the movement falls apart as surviving becomes a struggle. James ends up becoming a smuggler with no real base of operations, carrying various goods from one side of the ravaged country to the other. From QZ, FEDRA, Fireflies, and isolated survivor’s, he ferries goods for them all. He still has a huge soft spot for children, however, and is well known as being someone to contact if you want to get a kid somewhere relatively safe. He also knows the best way across the country for the few that attempt it. Which is how he receives wind of a fellow smuggler heading westward with a young girl. So he becomes intent on joining the two on the journey, whether they want it or not, because no way in hell is he going to knowingly leave a kid with some questionable bastard.
