Work Complaint story:
My job is changing: from a classroom teacher for 4th graders to being a teacher who pulls small groups for 3rd- 6th math. And this week is my transition week, I’m helping the new teacher of my class with planning and to get to know the students, and she’s quite the complainer and needs a still and silent classroom to get through the day. In my opinion shouldn’t be working at an elementary school.
Anyway today she invited me up to the smart board for me to teach the class(she’s their new teacher and complained about how I taught them). And she told me to stop giving the class directions: I never addressed the whole class, but told kids to pick up their pencil and push their chairs in… literally any adult in the building can do that they’re still my kids.
And then! I was helping a kid with NEW MATERIAL in math which he really struggles,(I taught this kid all last year and this year so I know the kids better) and she told me to stop helping him, and I gave my reasoning and she told me to stop helping.
AND THEN after a few minutes she asks to step out for a minute: I figure to go to the bathroom, but noo, she tracked down the principal on the other end of the school and asked her if she could make today my last day of this “transition period” and I could “get out of her room”.
The principal comes around and I told her the whole truth. She asked “so you like teaching that class?” And all I had to say was “I did when she told me to go to the smart board and do the example problem” she twisted the truth to the principal to make it seem like I was pushing her off the hypothetical stage.
Anyway now I don’t have to deal with her passive-aggressiveness and I get all of tomorrow to make copies and get organized for my new job. Good fucking GRIEF
