Oh ho ho
I think Fox choosing to stay behind has confirmed something for Dingo. Something he may have suspected. Which is interesting because I might have assumed that they were able to direct him to Coyote through her. And if that was the case, even if he was only now having suspicions confirmed, it would be good reason to have concerns and doubts about Xanatos here now.
But it didn't have to be clearly through Fox that led him to Coyote.
Point being, I think Dingo appears to be the only other Pack member other than Fox able to Think coherently. Lmao. Which okay yeah, tracks. lmao
At least as interesting here too is that Xanatos rungs with Dingo's direction, but manages to underplay it. He just says she's 'out of the picture' and doesn't go down the path of trying to make them suspect her of betrayal. He could have, to try to get them emotional. Sway them in his direction. Make them feel like they have a common enemy.
But he directs them immediately to the enemy he wants them to share. Not Fox, who he has reason to protect and redirect their attention from, but to the target he wants them to have instead. And I stopped here but saw enough of the next line which I'm realizing probably should have got included here, but his next line is that they also put him in jail. So he's also invoking a bond with those here (excepting Dingo) to further the narrative that they are like him and not like their enemy.
Feels pretty familiar!
Well, if The Pack was trying to see what the gargoyles could do... that was quite a display for them. Personally, I would reconsider pissing these guys off further, but also, I never would have wanted to try and take on mystical huge humanoid creatures on either myself to begin with. XD
I should have waited a little bit longer XD These visuals are much better. A 5v2 that looks like a 5v8+(?). You got this Pack, if you can correctly spot the gargoyles in the dark. XD
It's interesting to me that they have Coyote take out two of the three gargoyles and Dingo is the only other Pack member who has a win against them. Lexington, Brooklyn, and Bronx were beating the crap out of Jackal, Hyena, and Wolf. And those three, once again, are the ones who end up with the most extreme alterations/upgrades. I think an easy out to why Dingo just goes with a suit is 'okay, he was the only one competent enough on his own,' but I'm going to stick with it's more about his personality than anything like that.
I came into this feeling like I liked Dingo best back in the day, and that was probably more to do with that he becomes less a villain later on and probably even an ally really, but also they're just making him be the most interesting too here lol
Once again, what the heck is up with Dingo? Even he went into this, despite all the things that could go wrong while most things were just fine, right, and dandy without knowing who was behind the mask of the guy plotting?
Oh this is a fun idea! Xanatos gets this idea because he learns that Dingo is looking for a way to bust out his team. So he slipped in enough information to lead him to Coyote. He wasn't talked into it. It was his idea! To an extent anyway. I think his plan ended with getting them out. But this was his team, and he is loyal and determined. Wouldn't he want them to come get him if it were him locked up?
That is so much more interesting to me as a concept. Like Xanatos could have done absolutely done nothing with the information that Dingo was looking for a way to break them out, but instead it gave him an idea. One that suits his needs in many more ways than just one.
I dunno, that just works the best for me. I think if he had found himself sought out by a strange armored man, he would have demanded to know more about him before he got roped into such an asinine plot.
But if he was the one looking to break out The Pack, then he was the desperate one and would have to accept whatever conditions this armored guy set. A guy he found efficient but also kind of scary abut can't walk away from because how else does he get his crew out?
Yes yes. I like this very much. New firm headcanon unlocked.
Also... ONCE MORE I want the backstory on how Fox got everyone together. That's seeming more and more all the more fascinating of a backstory!
(If this is a thing discussed in podcasts or other behind the scenes stuff, please don't actually tell me. I want to stew on it with my own thoughts and interpretations.)
It is funny to think about and realize the fact that Dingo was the only one of them who didn't actually get in trouble with the law. Fox and Wolf were taken in together after the first encounter the gargoyles had with The Pack, and Jackal and Hyena were taken in for trying to murder Xanatos at his upstate compound. Wolf probably has the most mild charge lmao. He just kind of abetted Fox during her hostage taking scheme.
But Dingo we haven't seen since they hunted the gargoyles on the rooftop. Given that absence, it's so interesting to see him again now. Really makes me wonder what motivates him. He wasn't really interested in criminal activity when he wasn't being baited along to it by his team, and would he even think of hunting something that isn't supposed to exist as criminal?
So it's quite the jump to a prison break for people he just worked with and didn't even keep in contact with as far as we know when they were first forced to split up. I mean, obviously Xanatos reached out to him and offered him money, but I still posit this is quite a large leap for him given what we've seen before.
Just means I have to keep an eye on him this episode!
I do really enjoy just how thrilled Jackal and Wolf are about this prison break lmao
The Pack follows after Goliath and Lexington using grappling hooks, and Dingo gets all jumpy because of a gargoyle statue he sees immediately on making it to the roof. This is important setup for what follows of course, so had to grab it. But it's also an interesting visual of the numbers seeming to even out visually even while it's still a 5v2 situation, and I really actually enjoy that. Even the feeling that the odds aren't as in your favor as it is affects an outcome imo.
