The trio watching Goliath and Elisa dance and having this unbridled moment of joy. LOVE IT! THEY DESERVE SUCH A GOOD TIME!! <3<3<3

It's funny that this is the first time we're seeing the gargoyles use that they're viewed as monsters to their advantage, and they're in the form of humans. They literally can't stop the mob from doing anything to them with strength as they usually can, but they Can do This.

Love that it's Lexington who's the most aware not just that they Don't want to hurt these people, but that they Can't. Because he has the most easily internalized that they are not As They Should Be.

Love that it's Brooklyn who's quick thinking enough to make a plan and present it to the group.

Love how Broadway just closes his eyes and growls, the one of them I think who probably most loathes to be seen as a monster/warrior/someone who can hurt others. He just throws himself blindly into it, in front of the others as the biggest, and just closes his eyes and hopes it work. What faith he has in Brooklyn here, in a way.

Oh OUCH!

I LOVE that this is said by Hudson. I think it can be easy for younger people to dream of impossibilities. I don't know, it wouldn't have had the same weight coming from those who have been adapting so well to this world. But Hudson has held back. He didn't dive into learning about this world and finding ways to enjoy it besides his recliner and TV. But he doesn't have as long to live going forward as the rest, and he can admit out loud that they had an opportunity that they passed by in order to do the right thing.

LOVE it! That's kind of big for Hudson imo. To say it out loud. He's reeling.

And of course, by letting him say something simple like this, he can speak a little bit what the others may be feeling even more strongly, they're missed chance and fitting into the world they've been thrust into. They're alone together again after briefly glimpsing a shot at living IN the world rather than beside it.

It's just so lovely to see them enjoying a night out! Having some food, socializing, fitting right in. I realized too that I didn't think much about their costumes, and so here's where I must.

Broadway's is particularly interesting because it's SO CLOSE to his detective noir outfit, but also absolutely is not!

With the white collar shirt underneath and tie, he goes from looking like a detective in a noir movie to a business man to people who are me. And it's super interesting to me that he went from something much more classically a caricature to dress up into just... normal average Joes. He just did the detective thing, and while I don't think he's had enough of it, it's time for his other dream- to simply fit in and be able to make a home and community among others. No so obvious barriers from expanding his community by feature of what he is. It's actually a little sad but absolutely perfectly right and correct.

Lexington's is kind of funny to me. Sure he can't fly, but he can soar through the air. But he doesn't just want something like flying, he wants the prestige and honor and recognition for his smarts. God I love Lexington in a cravat haha.

Brooklyn really, I feel, gets the spirit of Halloween the most, but it's no less like him. It's amusing to me that I feel like culturally, 'pirate' and 'biker gang guy' have a very similar space. But he tried the biker gang,a and it went poorly. But it still feels so similar and in that vein. He still wants to be part of a crew, specifically a fighter crew with leaders and camaraderie. Very cute and very appropriate to people who are me for the future Second.

LOOOOOVE that we end on this moment with zero dialogue. It's so sweet that Lexington is comforting Brooklyn. On the one hand, it could be hard for Brooklyn to accept comfort from Brooklyn after everything, but also further confirms to me that he and Lexington are closer individually than either are to Broadway.

And what's perhaps even more interesting to me is that Broadway is not comforting Elisa, and I can't help but suspect she shook off any attempts to comfort her. She wants to be alone here. And while Brooklyn's pain is obviously being taken seriously, I love this nod to that there are different levels of experiences. Brooklyn went through something rough, but Elisa went through something absolutely heartbreaking.

Adore adore adore how pissed and sad at turns they show Goliath, Broadway, and Hudson being. Yet utterly helpless to do anything but bear witness.

Goliath is so dramatic XD He makes his stand against Goliath calling him pitiful and, with his hair flowing in the wind and the camera panning out, proclaims that his strength actually are the friends he made along the way as Elisa suddenly dives in and kicks Demona off screen. The friends is Elisa. Elisa is the friend.

It's a bit silly, but I also really really love it. Demona is constantly relying on powering her way into things. She thinks it should be enough that Puck understand her intentions that he shouldn't be able to surprise her, and yet he does. She has alienated all her potential allies by wanting to control them, so she relies on strong firearms rather than someone to have her back.

And it just. keeps. not. working.

Very little of what our heroes accomplish is done alone. Goliath might be the powerhouse, but he is also constantly being saved by the others. It's not just this episode. And the gargoyles are constantly rescuing each other. Lexington is not powerful, but he made them able to deal with their situation. They work as a community and a team and it truly, absolutely is where their strength lies. When they're in trouble, they have community to count on to help them out.

And the show really really wanted to make sure we didn't miss that here. XD

I am working under the assumption that the blast that threw Brooklyn here separated the gargoyles, so Brooklyn is in view only of Lexington and not the others. Which leaves Lexington in the predicament of choosing between revenge and saving Brooklyn.

Of course Lexington was going to choose Brooklyn, but I do very much enjoy that it wasn't an easy decision for him. Let The Pack get away again to potentially hurt them and others, or stop Brooklyn from falling.

The obvious choice is still Brooklyn, but that doesn't make it an easy choice. Even when Brooklyn is probably the member Lexington is The Closest To of the clan. That's how badly he wants The Pack. Amazing. Love it. And if he isn't a coward, he'll have to face just how close he came to not acting fast enough.
