We cut to the younger gargoyles down by the food we saw earlier. Lexington and Brooklyn are playing Monkey in the Middle with Bronx, and this little boy Tom we saw before notices. He gets curious and comes over. Demona watches from above. She was enjoying the antics of her her brethren but gets this look when the kid approaches the three younger gargoyles.
And we have this very lovely moment. The kid introduces himself very kindly and curiously and starts asking questions. He doesn't get their ways, but he's not put off by it either. We also get this exchange which establishes that the gargoyles don't have names. Remember, Goliath was given his name by the humans and is likely the only gargoyle the humans had thought they'd need to interact with.
I always balk a little at this tidbit of worldbuilding. I don't really mind that they don't need names the way we have them, but give us something. How do you call out to one specific other gargoyle? They were literally just playing Monkey in the Middle, and what if it had been more than just Lexington and Brooklyn who were playing? What if Broadway was. What if the person you wanted to throw to looked away for a second, and you want them to look and know you are throwing to them next?
It could be enough that it's a matter of them having names specific to their relationship to the other. Like 'oldest brother' as an example (though of course that doesn't work for them but you get my drift I hope) and recognizing the voice of the speaker, one would know if they were being spoken to or not.
Ultimately this is one of the things I don't think was thought about much beyond: We want to name these character after New York features but the requires they didn't have a name before. I'm not against the idea but like... give me a better reason. XD
