The sound of a camera going off and film being disbursed makes E. pause in his reading. What the hell?
He picks his head up, pulling back the curtain of hair to look at G., who's happily taking the film out of the Polaroid and staring at it, no doubt watching the film develop. E. watches him for a bit, dumbfounded.
"Did you just take a picture of me?" he asks, being met with a happy nod. G. flips the picture over to show him. Sure enough, there's E. sitting on the bed, hunched over his open book with his blond hair covering his face. E.'s brows furrow.
"I have pictures of Mary and DD," G. tells him nonchalantly, turning the photo back around to face himself so he can continue to look at it. "but none of you. Thought I'd change that."
"You couldn't have asked?"
"What? So you could pull a stupid face and try to ruin it?" E. just grins. Yeah. That sounds like something he would've done. Still, he goes back to his book, figuring the conversation is over.
"You look good," G. comments as he looks over at him. E. just scoffs.
"You can barely see me!"
"Yeah, but it's you. You're the only one I know that sits like some fucked up shrimp while you read."
You look over at him, seeing the shy and bewildered expression on his face. Both DD and E. pat his back, urging him up. You soften at the sight of him. He's obviously nervous as he walks over, head bowed so he can hide behind his long hair.
"H-hej," he manages to squeak out, lifting his head to look up at you.
"Hey, G.," You give him a smile, holding out your hand. He gently takes it in his own, following you into the storage room. When the door shuts, you let his hand fall from yours, giving him space.
"Have you ever played?" you ask him softly. You hear shuffling in front of you, probably trying to shut in on himself.
"Nej. I-I'm not really into parties," he explains, "When DD talked about this one, I thought it would be fun, but all I've done is sit in the corner with E.."
"That's okay. I'm glad you came at all," You knew G. was shy. He was always so polite and soft-spoken whenever you would hang out with the band or even help them set up for rehearsals. You knew he could be more social. You saw him joke around with the others and pull the occasional funny face for pictures. It was just crowds that would get to him.
"How is this game meant to be played?" G. asks you. You shrug a bit, knowing he couldn't see you.
"Well, there's not really much to it. Most people come in here to make out," You can practically sense his nerves rising so you quickly continue. "but it depends on whatever the people wanna do. Some people just talk."
There's silence but you're sure G. gives you a nod. He normally does that when you get through explaining something to him.
"Could... Could we try kissing?" The question is soft and hesitant, catching you off guard. If you had to guess, you'd assume G.'s never even held anyone's hand in a romantic manner. But maybe he was just trying to get out of his comfort zone?
"Yeah, if that's what you want." You hesitate before shuffling closer to him. You don't want to move too fast and risk scaring him. With a gentle touch, you cup his face and lean in. G. meets you halfway, pressing his lips against yours in a sweet and tender kiss.
G.'s hand reaches out for you, hesitating before it rests on your shoulder for a moment, then slides to the base of your neck. He follows your lead and before you know it, his free hand is also cupping your cheek, cradling your face so gently.
You don't push any further, not wanting him to feel uncomfortable. Still, your surprised when you feel his tongue graze across your bottom lip. You open up for him, surprised when you feel his tongue press against yours. Maybe he was more experienced than he let on.
The door opens, flooding the room with light and causing G. to gasp as he jerks back from you.
"Time's up!" You look at G., seeing how red his face is as he nods with a sheepish expression. He pulls back, walking alongside you as you two leave the closet. You follow him back over to his friends, taking a seat beside him. Of course the others are playfully teasing him. However, he looks at you, giving you a shy but giddy smile. Maybe you'd see what else he was experienced in.
We had hcs for Mary painting/sketching. Time for some hcs for G. Grotesque
Despite his scary appearance, G. is a huge nature lover
Being outdoors, no matter the weather, just makes him happy (even though his closet is 98% black and the summer is never kind to him)
But what he almost loves more than nature is photography
In high school, G.'s favorite class was photography and, not really surprisingly, was the only class he got nearly a perfect score in
His composition was always great and his teacher often praised him for how clear his shots came out
Not only this, but he was the best student when it came to developing film and often helped anyone that was brave enough to ask the punk for help
Even as an adult, G. still loves photography
Aside from his bass and equipment, he has a few cameras that have their own spot in his home and he's very precise on where they are, how they're put back, and what condition they're in
Not only because these cameras cost him a lot of money, but because they're his favorites and he couldn't bear to part with any of them
Depending on where he's going, G. will always take a camera with him
If it's to local gigs, he brings along his Polaroid for quick pictures that he can hang up at home
If the band is at a festival and/or traveling, he'll decide between bringing his higher quality digital camera, or Ol' Reliable, his SLR camera
Really, his SLR is one of his guilty pleasures. He absolutely loves working with film and he keeps each roll after it's been used
If you ask, he'll show you the books he keeps the negatives in
The negatives that haven't been developed are simply placed neatly in binders inside protective, clear pages
The negatives that have been developed take a spot beside the developed film. G. loves the reminder of small the photo started out
Laugh all you want, but the small walk-in closet in his apartment? That's his darkroom that took him a good year and half to set up
And yes, it was mainly because he spent a while saving up for an enlarger
He has everything he needs, though. Film, the safe light, the chemicals to develop the film, even the cutter. It's a fun hobby when he's not working
He's even managed to sell some of his pictures with his higher quality camera, which helped with some bills and other things he needed
If you catch him at the right time, don't be surprised if you smell developer on him. He doesn't use tongs because he could never get them to properly grab the film, and he also doesn't feel like putting gloves on
