Where do they propose?
Eleteo: I'm way too influenced by fic but probably by the balcony or fountain or some secluded spot in the palace where they can get away from the crowd for awhile so Mateo can get down on one knee under the stars.
Gababel: I think it would be on some observatory and they'd be looking at the stars, saying that it only heightens her beauty to him. Or on some rooftop where they can see everything but all they want is each other.
Estenaomi: If I'm going to continue with my drunk wedding hc, there wasn't much of one. But if they were sober, it would be on the beach at one of the many spots they're visiting right by the ocean Naomi loves.
Estoma: Esteban's office aka the exact spot where they first met. It has all the memories and private intimacy and history wrapped in one place. It's where it all began even though they had no idea how much they'd end up meaning to each other.
What do they talk about after the engagement?
Eleteo: Basically wedding plans but they also addressed their concerns like Mateo's insecurity about being a good royal consort, if others will feel threatened with a wizard on the throne after Shuriki's reign of evil? Elena talks about her concern with spacing time between duty and time with him and what will happen if the two collide or she's forced to choose between the safety of her kingdom or safety of him?
Gababel: They also have similar talks as above but less high stakes and more like dealing with Gabe being gone on long stretches of time, the fact they will inevitably have to deal with his PTSD as well as Isabel's own ambitions in the STEM world and making sure Gabe doesn't feel intellectually inferior.
Estenaomi: they didn't have much of an engagement so it's more like a post-marriage talk where they work out the necessary details like how to tell others, what exact changes it will bring, does this speed up their timeline of kids, split of duties etc.
Estoma:They mainly talk about every bit of their pasts like Esteban explaining those feelings of grief about his parents' death, his isolation, resentment, etc. that led to his betrayal and the lingering feeling of guilt that make him feel he doesn't deserve love again. While Dona reveals osme fragments of her past to him before, it's all out in the open now.
Who brags about the wedding? Eleteo: Neither. They're both just thrilled to be married to one another. Plus it's hard to brag when you know NO ONE will ever have a wedding like theirs full of magic AND royalty. Though Elena might bring it up a bit when Vals' bragging gets too much.
Gababel: I think Isabel would only in response to Val or someone. After all the ceremony is just a getting the chance to declare their love in front of family and friends as they're bonded forever. She doesn't brag but she does enjoy talking about that wonderful day. Estenaomi: Esteban. Totally Esteban though it's more like bragging about how great his wife is, not that Naomi minds it at all.
Estoma: Dona. Even though it was a smaller, more refined affair, she embellishes some details when telling people who missed the event a la Rachel Green---- "And my veil was lace, made by blind Belgian nuns." "Blind?"
"Well not at first but it was very intricate work and they said even though they lost their sight, it was all worth it."
Who is the micromanager of the wedding?
Eleteo: Neither. Well, Elena has more say in the wedding because, hello it is her wedding and she wants it to reflect her sense of style. Mateo puts complete faith in Elena because he knows that she has both of their best interests at heart and that she knows him as well as she knows herself. Besides, once he put his trust in her on a horse or a jaquin or fighting evil wizards. A wedding is no big deal.
Alonsonaomi: Naomi is. And to be honest, it was kind of a mistake. Elena knew how crazy Naomi gets planning things to the last detail. Her own wedding was no exception. It was bad for the poor poor Cordoban servants that had to follow her instructions to the most minute detail. Even worse if they messed up. Alonso tried to take some responsibilites off her but it was like fighting with a wolverine over food. She would not let go of the planning. Gababel: Isabel does it because Gabe doesn't have much experience with royal weddings and how they should be done. Besides he doesn't put much effort into things like curtain colors or seating placements while Isabel's analytical mind is all over it, calculating how much food they need and the body heat index combined with air conditioning. She's almost having a blast. Estoma; Esteban. Any event he plans has to be the event of the year in his mind. Or even the decade. The fact that it was his own wedding might have amped up the pressure a tiny bit.
Garter hcs because I thought it was a fun tradition
Eleteo: You already described it very well. But I imagine that as Mateo said, they should do it again. And so they do! Especially during their first honeymoon. Elena gathers many many garters which she puts, teasing Mateo to get to them. At first it's at simple places like her wrist but then she tests the bounds more and more until Mateo can no longer resist what she wants. Not that he doesn't want it just as much. Gababel: Isabel was super nervous about this tradition because people watching as Gabe ack! It was enough that she was already anxious about the coming honeymoon and "the deed" as you said. Gabe assured her that she didn't have to do it but with a little nudging from Elena she did. Gabe made sure to do it quickly though. He would save the teasing loving stuff for later.
Gabenaomi: They took full heart to the tradition with Naomi's mischevious and Gabe wanting to impress. How so? Naomi with many remarks that she thought were guaranteed to take make him lose focus and Gabe by trying to do the fastest time while keeping Naomi on edge. They really had fun with it.
Alonsonaomi: Ah gah! Alonso was only way too happy with this one. Although up till now, Naomi tried to remain professional with Alonso but he really shaped up and showed his love. Now his Casanova was coming out a little bit. So the day of the wedding, imagine Alonso's shock when he couldn't find the garter. Only to be told it was on her other leg with a wink from Naomi—Still keeping him on his toes. Estenaomi: Like you said, their marriage would be very spontaneous and rushed and they don't have any of the necessary garters. No fear, they make do with some rope. Until Esteban who doesn't particularly want to grab rope with his teeth suggests they skip the rope and the garter and starts kissing her down her leg.... Estoma: Esteban was completely against it— it was foolish and inappropriate. They others ragged on him saying he had to do it but they were starting to think it wouldn't happen. Until Doña riled him up and challenged him to get the garter while her legs were firmly crossed. Esteban rose to the challenge.
Wedding hc
Eleteo; the one song I always think of when it comes to the wedding is "LA vie en rose" from Breakfast at Tiffany's. Go watch it if you haven't heard of it. Gababel: Gabe's parents made most of the food for their wedding. It's just a given. But the big wedding cake was Gabe's speciality because he had a vision for it. Isabel insisted on helping too since he couldn't do the three large layers alone. It then turned to a family affair with everyone pitching in to help. The cake turns out to be an extravagant creation with a special touch from each piled with flowers and sugar marzipan figurines. Isabel loves the cake because she feels it represents the new family they have together full of heart and love and togetherness.
Estenaomi: Well their wedding was an elopement. Luisa insisted on having another since she wanted to see her only grandson married with her own eyes. Naomi raises the challenge. If they want to experience their wedding, they'll experience it as it was, in less than two hours. So it's a mad dash through Avalor as the palace staff and family try to get a wedding dress, suitable decorations etc. and a priest on short notice. They do, in part because no one wanted to piss off Luisa. The wedding was short and sweet with an added surprise. Esteban and Naomi were able to create short vows while everyone scrambled around.
Gabenaomi: The wedding is very laid back but the bachelor/bachelorette that took place before it were a wild time Elena took her role as maid of honor very seriously and wanted to give Naomi a night she would never forget. Their was a pool, there was a stripper, there was many drinks and all that fun stuff. Luisa had plenty of stories to tell the girls lol. Mateo's party was a little less wild but still fun as they had all the guards together no thought of some pretty creative ideas of how to end the last night of Gabe's bachelorhood. But near the end of the night, both sneaked off to Naomi's ship taking in the sunrise together before they head off to their wedding.
Estoma: I'll do an engagement one since you haven't. So it's post dinner, Esteban leads her to his office and shows her some constellations. Surprised, she remarks she's never noticed the view from that window. Esteban coolly comments that they've always been at work here and to think that it was ? years ago that this was where they first met. It was amazing how far they've come. And if they knew what they knew now, would they have changed what they first said to each other.
Doña considers, "No I wouldn't have. You still needed to be taken down a peg back then. Besides, it wouldn't have changed a thing. I think we would still have found a way to be together. After all the scheming and the deals and the fixing problems because of your foolishness."
“My foolishness?! What about yours?" "I was being perfectly rational. It is your foolishness that made you think I was being.."
Esteban: "Fine— but your arrogance caused most of the problems." Doña: "I'm less arrogant than you."
Esteban: "Oh really? What about the time....nevermind. Do you want to know what I would have said if I knew then what we would end up going through together?"
Doña: "Oh what?"
Esteban bends down on one knee and pulls out a ring, "Will you marry me? Knowing that we will stay by each other's side during the darkest times, and that we may fight but we always have the same side in the end. You are my beautiful, intelligent if not insufferably argumentative rose with thorns. Will you be my wife from now on?'
Who cries at the wedding vows?
Eleteo: Elena does but it's silent tears of happiness and joy. It is still sometimes difficult for her to talk about her time in the amulet before all this happened but also that overwhelming feeling of her wedding day, that thus forever with him by her side, proclaiming he loves her her strengths and to be there if she falters is just wow.
Gababel: Isabel does. She got really into writing her vows and how Gabe makes her feel safe and how he has always been by her since she was little until they've grown to where they are now. And because he sees her crying, Gabe nearly starts too.
Estenaomi: Neither. Both are pretty confident in their marriage and each other so any heartfelt vows would be marred by the other making a joke on the side so no waterfalls here.
Estoma: Both and neither. By that I mean, tears do start welling up during their vows but their deep sense of reputation won't allow them to spill over in public.
Who smashes cake in the face?
Eleteo: Elena and Mateo do the same because Elena is mischievous and that is totally some things he'd do and Mateo knows that so he tries to do it first.
Gababel: Isabel does. She is so unassuming and Gabe is so taken with her that cake in the face is the last thing he's expecting from her. So when he reaches up to him, he expects a kiss and then there's frosting. But he feels totally at liberty to get her back. Estenaomi: I think it would also happen at the same time. They like to joke and tease each other so cake in the face would totally be fair. Though I think Naomi is more likely as Esteban spends a lot of time on his appearance that day and Naomi doesn't care one bit.
Estoma: Esteban is more likely to let himself go and do something like that but he also knows Dona would be furious with him messing up all her hair and makeup.
What did they do after they got married?
Eleteo: Once they walked out the hall just before the ceremony there was a lot of swinging around and kissing and surprisingly silence as they took each other and the moment in. They did it. After all the drama and dangers, they got a perfect happily ever after. Then they kissed which was promptly ruined by Luisa, Naomi and Isabel reminding Elena she had to change. But once they got on their honeymoon they got to kiss again and again and yet again.
Gababel: Once they left the crowd and crossed the threshold of their honeymoon suite they actually did a kinda adorkable happy dance. They were married to their best friend and soulmate. And after their little dance, Gabe picked Isabel up again and started to spend the rest of their lives together.
Estenaomi: Well let's say the day after they made their impulsive not sober marriage they got over their hangovers and realized what happened. At first it was a bit awkward, saying they could always have it annulled but then it led to their talk that yes, they did themselves heading for marriage. They weren't so horrified that they were currently married. They did want to spend their lives together anyway. So they started a second celebration to their decision that they were going to stay married.
Estoma: After the ceremony and before the reception party, they took a moment to repeat their vows in private because they were trying too hard not to cry in public and kinda missed it as it was being said. As you can imagine, it was much better the second time with their undivided attention and maybe some choked up moments.
Pregnancy hc
Eleteo: Elena has some wacky pregnancy cravings that were none too appetizing for the rest of the palace to watch her eat. Gababel: The first few times Isabel felt the baby kick, she was nervous but also over the moon. More often than not, when people hurt the baby, the entire family would crowd into the room to feel her stomach, even some servants like Armando would join in. Even in the middle of the night. Estenaomi: Naomi had very intense mood swings and by intense I mean she was tired and frustrated the entire time because Naomi hated being tied down and not being allowed to do the work she was perfectly capable of, thank you very much. Estoma: (This is some AU assumption that she's young enough to have kids) She got super sentimental whenever kids were around. Resulting in friends trick or treat. Them as parents?
Eleteo: Mateo and Elena would make lovely parents. they're fun and would make sure the kids know that they're loved and able to do whatever they want. Though there is some trouble resisting their puppy eyes. Luckily for them, their kids inherited their helping, kind natures so they aren't into too much mischief.
Gababel: They both adore their kids but also take turns being the disciplinarian because again, one of them has to step up when the other is under the sway of the darn Flores inherited puppy eyes. But overall, Gabe is the fun, athletic dad who takes his kids to the park while Isabel always helps with homework and teaching them how to read.
Estenaomi: I feel Esteban would be the one who is so enamoured with the kid that he'd just believe that they can do no wrong. Naomi is sometimes sucked in, she is also very aware of their kid's tricks and won't be swayed easily. They are totally the adventurous family though and aren't above ditch days.
Estoma: Unshockingly, they would spoil their kids. Like Alonso-level spoiled. Everything the kid is, is beautiful, talented, a genius etc. I will say the children aren't as lazy as Alonso at least. Esteban would want to make sure they wouldn't make the same mistakes as he did having too much time on his hands.
Who sings the kid to sleep during the thunderstorm?
Eleteo: They both do but mainly Elena.
Gababel: Gabe does, being the big protector that he is, he goes to the kids straightaway and has a surprisingly sweet alto voice that is very calming. Sometimes Isabel follows just to watch Gabe work his charm with her favorite cherubs.
Estenaomi: I feel Naomi would because I see Esteban as a deep sleeper so Naomi would be more likely to actually wake up and go sing to the child. Estoma: Again, Dona because Esteban sleeps like a rock. But sometimes she brings the child to bed with them and wakes up Esteban so he can sing the Avaloran lullaby.
Who is the doting parent? Eleteo: Both! Both in their own ways. Elena just can't help but fall for her own children's puppy dog face as her husband does. They love them. So together they scourge up the strength to say no sometimes. But Mateo can be more strict when it comes to them in his workshop and trying to tamper with magic, that can't be allowed. As they both know, it can have disasterous consequences. Alonsaomi: Naomi is. She is level headed but then her child comes and everything s/he does is absolutely amazing and wonderful. Alonso thinks the same because hey, it is his kid, he has inherited good looks and suave personality but that also means he can anticipate his tricks. Gabenaomi: Gabe, Gabe's children have him wrapped around his/her finger. We all know he is a big softie so it's not much of a leap. Gababel: Gabe is still the doting one. Blame it on being an only child, he thinks they should be lavished with all the love and attention and protection even if it can get overbearing.
