Me and Will had a baby a few months ago. Today we finally decided to let her go to one of his games.

Madison Square Garden always feels loud, but this night feels different.

I was standing behind the glass, my hands supporting my baby against my chest, tiny headphones resting over her tiny ears. She was wearing a Rangers jersey with “CUYLLE” written on the back.

The Hilary Trocheck was beside me, she grinning he looked almost as proud as Will is and Lauren Brodzinskis was also with me. Both of their kids were bouncing with excitement.

“It’s baby Cuylle!” One of them says, pointing at Selena.

I laugh.

Will skated out with that focused look he always has on his face.

Once he spots me his eyes immediately soften. He skates towards me, slowing down once he reaches the glass. I lift the baby gently.

Will taps the glass with his glove. Selena blinks at him, completely fascinated by the sound. Hilary leans down. “She’s already got Wills stare.”

I roll my eyes, smiling. “Please don’t encourage it.”

Will spots a puck and scoops it up, he flips it over the glass landing perfectly in my hands.

I hold the puck in Selena’s tiny hand, helping her fingers curl around it.

Lauren takes a picture of us, Will behind the glass, grinning through his visor, I’m holding up Selena so we’re all lined up.

After the game, I wait near the family entrance.

Will finally appears, hair damp from his shower, suit jacket around his arm. He walked towards me.

“Hey,” he says softly.

He pressed a kiss to my head, then he cups Selena’s head and places a kiss there too.

“How was her first game?”

I smile. “She got a puck before she can even crawl. She’s living the dream.”

Vince walks by and claps Will on the shoulder. “Little girl is already stealing your spotlight.”

“I know she is,” Will says, smiling.

The Trochecks and Brodzinskis say their goodbyes, the kids saying goodbye to “baby cuylle”

The city air is cold when we step outside. Will is carrying Selena now, holding her carefully against his chest. I lace my fingers through Wills free hand.

On the drive home, Selena falls asleep immediately.

Will glances at me during a red light. “Best game ever.”

“Really?”

“Positive. The most important people were there to watch me.”

Hi y'all. I'm going to be really transparent right now. I've lost a lot of motivation with writing, and had a lot of insecurities pop up along the way. I've been trying to write but it feels like pulling teeth.
