How Do Mack and Gabe Know Each Other?

I'm working on a big willgabeleno masterpost, but in the meantime. What the hell is up with this photo?

Well, it's actually extremely simple. Their jerseys say CAA hockey camp. CAA stands for Creative Artists Agency. They're basically a talent management company. They work with athletes, entertainers, and brands in stuff like contract negotiation and sponsorships. Anyways. Both Mack and Gabe are represented by CAA. They're both on CAA's big list of NHL players they represent (although Gabe is much further down on the list).

in 2021, Gabe posted about a week-long hockey camp thrown by CAA. This is the first time Mack liked one of Gabe's posts, so we can assume it's the first time they met. I don't know how much they kept in contact afterwards, but they do interact with each others' posts pretty consistently. Here's some of the comments they've left each other, because I think they're funny.

(I have absolutely no evidence for this, but I like to imagine that Gabe talked about Mack to Will and Leno at least once. I wonder if he blames himself for Will "choosing Mack".)

so glad you asked me this question actually cus i already had an answer

mack is obviously the tashi to willgabe’s artrick BUT i feel like will is art and gabe is patrick. mack isn’t tashi in some weird malicious way or anything (i am a tashi duncan defender), he’s just the clear force that is driving will to keep doing more and more. will is very obvious: would do anything for tashi (mack), obsession with fulfilling others expectations, etc etc. while personality wise i think he’s a bit more like patrick out of the two, this is more abt dynamic than anything else.

gabe is where things get a little complicated. if you’re absolutely crazy like me then you’d know that gabe has… an interest with mack. as in, seemingly liking any instagram post that comes across his feed pertaining to him kind of interest. before that him and mack lowkey have a history, like with those photos from that training camp they were at. but less abt them and more abt willgabe. they follow the same schematics as the original movie. patrick (gabe) cares less for tashi (mack) and has only truly cared about art (will) while wanting him back terribly even if he refuses to acknowledge it. essentially just yearning for yearnings sake.

you were probably just expecting a simple explanation but i’m in over my head here.
