Best of 2019 Countdown #10 :: Iwan Lewis and Gabriel Vick keep grinding, and remain high in my heart. [ 11 | 12 | 13 | 14 | 15 ]

Iwan Lewis won some well-deserved recognition for his artistic direction of the Barn Theatre in Cirencester, as the Barn was named Fringe Theatre of the Year at The Stage awards earlier this year. Throughout 2019, Iwan and his team have produced several shows, most of them to near or full sell out and extended runs, and welcomed touring productions as well to Cirencester. Currently, the Barn is the media partner for Cirencester’s Advent Festival, and its two-hander production of The Importance of Being Earnest will be the theatre’s first London transfer, shifting to the Turbine Theatre in February.

Gabriel Vick spent most of the year in London and on tour with the Little Miss Sunshine musical, enjoying its run with a cast that became a tight family even after a few changes between London and the tour, at happy work and play together across the UK. In between tour stops, Gabriel also had time to perform with The Phoenix Collective, his band made up of fellow former cast members from the musical Once, including extended ami Jos Slovick. If you ever have a chance to see them in or around London, I highly recommend the experience.

so today i could have done a physics test and just be done with homework already, but instead i figured out all of the birthdays of the actors of the movie les amis (i had most, but there were 3 that were really difficult to find)

also, more fun facts (if got the right dates):

Stuart Neal and Daniel Huttlestone have the same birthday

Iwan Lewis and George Blagden have the same birthday

Stuart Neal (being the shortest of them) is still one of the oldest, at 39 (but i don’t know how old Gabriel Vick is, so maybe not the oldest)

Gabriel Vick was in Mockingjay Pt.2 and 2 of the How to Train Your Dragon movies

there was probably a ton more but that’s all i can remember at the moment

While Iwan Lewis and Gabriel Vick tend to keep lower profiles than most of the other actors in the Les Mis film, they too have had interesting years, with a few lovely triumphs.

Iwan continues in his role as the artistic director of the Barn Theatre in Cirencester, and this year he directed the well-received play One Minute and produced several other shows, including Just So, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, and an acclaimed refreshed version of The Secret Garden, while also forging strong ties with the Cirencester community, including leading the town’s commemorations of World War I this year with the Human Poppy project. For his work at the Barn, Iwan was a Best Director nominee in this year’s The Stage Debut Awards.

Gabriel Vick, meanwhile, appeared in the Nativity Rocks! film currently in cinemas, and presented his second written musical, The Station Master, during the Bath Fringe Festival. Gabriel also continues in his role as low key hype man for fellow actors on and off the West End as well—at one point even dropping in at Iwan’s Barn Theatre this year—and we can look forward to hearing and seeing a great deal more of him in 2019.
