i desire more amo and ume angst pleaseeeeeee :D like imagine this: amo getting mad at ume for rudo liking her more but then amo feels bad for resorting to anger and jealousy since she promised to be better than her old self, but amo still isn’t used to feeling emotions again and she just breaks down crying and yelling, then ume comes and comforts her and amo is grateful but sadly sees why rudo likes ume more than her and tries to move on

change doesn't happen in a day! amo is gonna be jealous! she's not gonna be nice to ume for a while. she wants love, and in her mind, ume is standing in the way of that - even people who haven't been through even a fraction of what amo has think that way

she feels bad about it, though. she doesn't like it. ume is nice to her. it's like how when tomme was gentle with her and she said "you'd be a good mama" - and ume is WRITTEN to have a sort of "motherly", home-maker vibe. ume is the sort of person she likes - she's nice and gentle and patient

but rudo likes her. and because of that he doesn't like amo. so she hates her.

that's the simplified way amo's trauma makes her view it. it's like how a children's book simplifies emotions or relationships, but it confuses her because it's a lot more complex than that

the idea of her snapping at ume is so juicy bc amo has so much trauma that COULD lead to that, and ume is the sort of person who only ever fights if she has hit her limit. the only person she's ever fought in the cleaners was zanka back when she first joined bc he was lowk a massive prick and she wasn't doing too hot at the time.

ume is the sort of person who offers comfort and understanding, which amo desperately needs, so she can't help but accept that she sees why rudo would like her more

but that just makes her feel worse. because amo isn't gentle or sweet, and her voice isn't low and soft like a lullaby, and she doesn't smell like cleaning. why would he ever like her instead? but she wants love so much more. she needs love so much more. is she loving wrong? what's she doing wrong?

and somehow, it's ume who ends up explaining to her - her idea of love is flawed

love isn't like the fairytales, however nice it sounds. love is messy. it hurts. you lose more often than you'll gain. but the beauty of it is when you find someone who loves you too - who will give you everything as well. who'll stand by you for all the good and bad all the same. and even when you don't have that love, you have other love: the love of family and friends. it's no less strong, it's just a different sort of love

and that makes things hurt a bit less
