If you are a harry potter fan and promote it in public or online you are personally responsible for the genocide JK Rowling is bringing about in multiple countries.
My blood and the blood of hundreds of thousands of others is on your hands all because you couldn’t shut up. I don’t care if you’re disabled/trans/queer/bipoc or any other excuse you use to worm your way out of responsibility for your actions because the truth of the matter is that you are harming EVERYONE who falls into those categories by supporting an actual fucking white supremacist.
If you are quietly doing your thing without interacting with others or brining up ANY aspect of her shit congrats dude sorry the creator turned out to be an actual certified Nazi.
I have had a lot of evil people say to me that nothing taste as good as skinny feels and every time im like no im pretty sure food tastes really super good actually
I remember my parents and their friends and family always taking opportunities to say homophobic stuff, especially when schools teaching about the LGBTQ was brought up.
My parents would make me skip school on IDOHOBIT day and if the school was doing an event for pride month.
But there were days when my class taught about it, and it gave me a jumping point for when I eventually did my own research.
okay sure. psychosis? scarier to have than to know someone who has it. DID? im more a threat to myself than people around me. wheelchairs and psych meds? are tools that help people live more functional and flexible lives and are not judgments of the persons character and for sure are not scary things. and for real, intellectually disabled people are not threats, but movies love to make them villains because they act different and understand the world differently. and people with notable physical differences? people who’s bodies look different? people with scars, growths, amputations, etc? are literally just people. and seeing themselves painted like monsters on the big screen is absolutely sickening and damaging to how society will see them.
its not only bad writing but its extremely harmful to people who actually live with conditions that are misrepresented in media. when i found out i had DID, my mom freaked out because her only point of reference was Sybil. when i was younger and first went on psych meds, i thought it meant i was set on a track to be a bad person, because in so many movies and video games you find out the bad guy has medication in his bed side table for some sort of psych disorder. the worst thing a hallucination has ever made me do was wake my mom up at 3 AM to check my bathroom to see if the bugs i saw everywhere were real and the worst thing an “episode” of any sort has made me do is hurt myself. my ptsd doesnt make me kill people, my alters dont kidnap people, my autism doesnt make me so morally unaware that ill murder for senselessly, my ocd doesnt make me hurt people etc etc etc
literally the only “horror” is the ableism. and the only way you can write good horror about disability and mental illness is if the focus is on how society and the medical field treat us rather than focusing on how we are apparently so scary, threatening, and bad.
Horror is and has historically been an incredibly ableist genre, and it is still largely unrecognized as such. This has genuine severe and real-life consequences for disabled and neurodivergent people in real life. Please keep this in mind if you are abled and/or neurotypical.
oftentimes an asylum is much scarier for people who need to be there. surprise! you’re considered incompetent, so no one while believe you if you report abuse. so those doctors can really do anything to you.
Yeah, like, occasionally there’s one asylum horror that understands that it’s abandoned-prison-horror. Where the rusty restraints and the old messages of desperation from people who wanted out suggest the horrifying presence just out of view of the ghost-doctor or nurse who could do anything to you.
But most asylum horror is ‘crazy people are scary’ ableist bullshit.
When my spouse (basically the sweetest human on the planet) was diagnosed with schizophrenia, their then-girlfriend’s mother pressured her to break up with them, because it meant they were clearly dangerous - a stereotype whose flames are constantly stoked by media, and especially horror.
Instead, she just *checks notes* used their diagnosis as a tool of abuse. Which is pretty much exactly what the actual stats say is much more likely to happen 🙃
I don’t think the stigma of neurodivergent, mentally ill, and/or variously-disabled folks as being dangerous would be even close to as strong as it (still) is without horror constantly fanning that flame.
the worst part about having a modern phone is accidentally pressing some cheat-code-ass combination of buttons to bring up the inbuilt AI software, adding to the statistics and making some tech billionaire company freak think I actually want that bullshit

1st image: A photo of a white woman on a bicycle with the text, "Does weight loss equal health? Why the pursuit of weight loss might actually be getting in the way of your long-term well-being."
end ID]
The post continues:
What actually makes us healthier (but not necessarily thinner:
Enjoyable physical activity
Eating a variety of nutritious foods
Eating enough to be satisfied
Nurturing meaningful social connections
Cultivating body acceptance
Prioritizing quality sleep
How dieting can erode our health:
Restricting food, leading to nutrient shortfalls or bingeing
Weight cycling (losing and regaining), which increases body fat and decreases muscle
Avoiding doctors because of your weight
Skipping social gatherings to void "off-limits" food
Skimping on sleep for extra exercise
The hidden harm of weight stigma
Our healthcare system often assumes higher weight = poorer health. But research shows that weight stigma (whether external or internal) increases the stress hormone cortisol.
Chronic stress plays a casual role in cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and other conditions.
Missing questions in weight-centric research
When researchers see poor health in larger bodies, they rarely ask:
Could it be the physiological effects of weight shame?
Could it be due to experiencing stigma at the gym?
If we don't measure fitness levels and weight stigma, how do we know body weight is the actual culprit?
What the Diabetes Prevention Program really proved
The DPP is often cited as proof that weight loss prevents diabetes. But participants were far more successful at meeting their physical activity goals than their weight loss goals. It's actually evidence that regular movement reduces risk!
The weight-inclusive approach
This approach makes room for all bodies without dictating that people must change their size to be healthy.
Remember: the exact same things that improve health for a thin person improve health for a fat person.
Making the mental shift
True well-being requires "unlearning" the idea that weight=health or value. The most meaningful health behaviors support both physical and psychological well-being--without obsession, rigidity, or self-judgement. It's a journey, not a pass-fail test.

1st image: "When I think about processed foods I think about how I work with families in public health and many kids have food sensory sensitivities and foods that are processed are their safe foods. I think about how parents are so scared because they read hit pieces about processed foods and think they are wrong for figuring out how to feed their child so their child grows and lives. I also think about how I work with kids and get them to try new fresh foods as well that many of them are scared to try."
2nd image: "True story - a parent was almost in tears today because her child has sensory difficulties and cannot eat fresh fruits and vegetables. We tried giving him a piece of banana and he expelled it right away crying (no he's not allergic).
"I want her to know and to remember that she's doing a great job. She's giving him packaged food in order to feed him and nourish him. This is more than okay because we are all individual and food affects us differently."
3rd image: "This is why I talk about packaged and convenience foods so much. We like to demonize them and list the ways they're harmful instead of highlighting how helpful they are to many. If you also have certain circumstances where you rely on convenience foods, I want you to know that's okay."
Image ID: a screenshot from @michellcclark on instagram. Text reads, "A gentle push: stop asking your body to perform at the level it did five years ago, stop comparing todays capacity to a version of yourself that didn't have this diagnosis, this schedule, this life. Meet your body where it actually is--not where you wish it still was."
for my fellow psychotics who struggle with thinking someone is in their house, a method I’ve found that really works are these guys:
i put them on my front door and anytime it opens they ring. that way if i think someone has broken in or i see someone who isn’t there i can think back to if the bells have rung, and if they haven’t i can assure myself it’s not real. obviously it’s not fool proof, like if you are prone to auditory hallucinations, but it has really helped me calm down in time to avoid major psychotic breaks. it’s a real lifesaver
Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Worried about what to say?
Bring your personal worries about transphobia being signed into law, and trans friends being excluded from public spaces. You are a living person who deserves dignity. Remind your MP of that. You will also get guidance and brochures from Trans Solidarity Alliance that outlines our demands. This is mine from last year.
Money issues?
Trans Solidarity Alliance provides a travel bursary that you can sign up for via the link.
Got a refusal or no response from your MP?
Come anyway! You can request a same-day appointment with your MP through a process called greencarding. They will come and see you if they’re already in Parliament. Even if they don’t, they’re made acutely aware of your cause because you showed up in person. This is my greencard from last year.
Here is the EHRC Code of Practice in full. It's a tough read, but some highlights are:
Organisations can’t provide trans-inclusive, single-sex services, or they risk being sued for discrimination.
e.g. domestic violence support for women including trans women, men’s rugby group including trans men (12.68).
Trans people will have nowhere safe to pee.
If you’re a trans man, businesses can't allow you to pee in the men's, and you can also be ejected from women’s bathrooms if you’re perceived as a man. Vice versa for trans women. EHRC suggests a ‘third space’ bathroom, which is discriminatory and unworkable for most businesses. (13.130-133)
Sports organisations must exclude trans people from single-sex competitions (13.73).
A women’s only sports competition must exclude trans women because of their biological advantage or face potential lawsuits (13.74), but a trans man who has undergone testosterone treatment can also be excluded based on fairness rules (13.81).
Trans women are stripped of the legal definition of ‘lesbian’, and therefore no longer have legal protections if they’re discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation. (2.50, 2.92).
Here is the Good Law Project's better explanation of the EHRC Code.
I have also made a PDF printout of QR codes for the government petition, email your MP tool, and mass lobby link to pass around your communities. DM me and I'll send it to you.
“You should have known everyone would hate you if you became a man” is victim blaming and transphobia.
“If you don’t like being treated like a traitor or a predator, you shouldn't have transitioned” is victim blaming and transphobia.
“If you can’t handle the bigotry that comes with being transgender, you must not be a real man” is victim blaming and transphobia.
"I've decided that I have it worse than you and that the pain you feel isn't real or important, so just suck it up and get over yourself" is victim blaming and transphobia.
Bigotry against trans men is just as real and just as wrong as bigotry against any other marginalized person. Being a man doesn't mean that you won't ever be hurt when people refuse to treat you with basic human decency. It doesn't mean that you'll never need help and support. It definitely doesn't mean that you deserve other people's hatred.
Trans men deserve to be respected and supported just like any other person does.
[Image description: Bluesky post by robottom reading: if you're cis and you are asked by your management to police bathrooms, "can you confirm in writing that you are ordering me to approach customers to discuss their sex?" is an email no manager wants to reply to
Quote repost by innes mck (@ innes.bsky.social) reads: this is what I mean when I say "don't let orgs and managers see discriminating against trans folk as the path of last resistance". transphobes are persistent and annoying. be just as annoying. show them compliance is going to be a legal nightmare /.End ID]
