this is a loaded question 

pros:

-dota is honestly an insanely well made game. There is an outrageous level of depth to dota that gives a player an insane amount options to go about every scenario, which leads to tons of individual player expression.

-item system is still objectively the best item system in mobas. Each item is completely unique and has their own unique impact on how you’re going to play the match. There’s very little items that are just raw stat boosts. Item builds completely change how you play a hero, and what you do in the game. A naga that builds radiance is literally a completely different hero than a naga that builds support items. 

-every hero is completely different. no hero does the same thing in the game. the impact, gameplan, and player expectations are completely different for say, a position 5 Lich than position 5 Shadow Demon, despite both being generally considered position 5 heroes. 

cons:

-game’s too hard

-gives me anxiety to play

-everyone’s a shithead because its a randomly matched team game with games that can last over an hour
