Hello! Sorry for this out of blue asking message. I've been desperate recently trying to find someone who can translate a piece of info in Jp about Yuzuru. I asked on so many forums and but failed to find help. At last I was thinking about users who could read kanji. Fortunately you came to my mind (because I enjoyed all your translations). Thank you for the translation. Could you please explain me this part: 'While he is mature for his age, there is another side to his personality. I think that this gap between his “on” and “off ” modes is also a part of his charm. A few years ago, when he said “You can’t take photos now~”, I jokingly told him “I’ll complain to sensei (referring to Yuzuru’s father)” and he let me take one shot.' What did he mean? How does it characterize Yuzu's personality?

This was actually a part I found difficult to translate. I think (this is just my interpretation, someone else might understand it differently) that he means that while Yuzuru behaves in a very serious, mature manner in certain settings (“on” mode), such as in his formal interviews/press conferences in which he talks about what he wants to achieve as a skater, at a certain competition, or his responsibility as Japan’s representative, there is also the other side of him in more relaxed settings (“off” mode) in which he seems more approachable and is totally adorable, more akin to how someone of his age group would behave. These are two very different but genuine parts of his personality.

I hope this helps to clarify it somewhat^^. Honestly while there is so much footage of him being really adorable Yuzuru is startlingly mature in many ways. For example, last December during GPF there was this article I read where a reporter asked him how he felt about his 19th birthday. The gist of his reply was that the person who had the toughest time on the day of his birth was his mother and he wants to be always grateful to his parents. I was stunned. How many teenagers or even adults think of their birthdays in this way? ;__;
