Qinni was an inspiration to me and many others. Though I’m sad she’s gone, I’m glad that she’s no longer in any pain.
This was very hard for me to make. I’m not very good at watercolor or realism in the first place, and then there’s the added part that every time I looked at this piece, I was reminded that this wonderful artist was gone from the world.
I spent ages wondering if this was ‘good enough’ to post. I’ve lost family in the past to cancer so her death- though I didn’t know her in real life- was kind of like reopening a wound. I made this piece to deal with my grief not only about Qinni, but my other feelings of loss as well.
Well, i may not be the best artist out there, but I still wanted to show my support. I still want to pay my respects to the artist who inspired me to start watercoloring in the first place!
So to the friends and family of Qinni: you are not alone. We understand your grief. We may not have known her in real life, but we loved her too. And we want to show our support for you and for her.
So Qinni, thank you for everything. Thank you for being inspiring to millions. Thank you for fighting. Thank you for continuing to draw and paint in spite of your pain and hardships.
I hope you’re at rest. You deserve it.
