This is the latest release of The Galaxy Project - my work to reverse engineer the studio sets of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

It is my hope that it will be helpful to those creating fan art or fan films.

The Return

I intended 2025 to be big push on the Galaxy Project, but it didn't work out.

My health deteriorated considerably, and I was left in an incredibly high level of pain. I spent most of the year unable to really do any hobby work.

By December though, things were looking better - a lot of physiotherapy and my medication being doubled made a significant difference. I no longer needed walking aids to get around my home.

So in December I decided to start once more on the Galaxy Project. As part of this, I developed new workflows around Sketchup Layout software to make it a bit easier and faster. Also I reworked the theme and symbols on the blueprints to give myself more flexibility and space.

Here's one of the pages in the new style - an improved version of transporter corridor K-Arch

Tomorrow I will be releasing a new version of the Galaxy Project - its a big update.

Status of the Galaxy Project

Last year was very rough with my health, and this year didn't start off great with three weeks of flu. This did impact on working on the latest edition of the the Galaxy Project, which I had hoped to finish last year.

Currently I'm getting back into the swing of things and slowly chipping away at it.

I've managed to make a start and have already reverse engineered the blueprints for a small wall console (see link below for the blueprint)

I'm not going set a release date and instead just work at my own pace and see what happens.

Small set labels

TNG , DS9, and VOY had these small labels all over the set and props.

TNG and DS9 used white text on red and white text on brown

Voyager used both silver text on blue and black/deep blue text on silver.

The actual text was never meant to be seen on screen, so the text often contained references.

The door width was used to get the scale and from there an initial model of the console.

After refinement
