Phase II Kirk's Quarters
Construction of Kirk's quarters was part way through before orders came to convert to TMP.
It even had a sonic shower installed:
Room set blueprints:
And blueprints for Kirk's bed
Ultimately the quarters would be redeveloped for TMP
The Galaxy project - new release
Full pdf booklet and individual images of pages:
This is the latest update of my project to reverse engineer blueprints of the studio sets of Star Trek TNG.
This version took a lot time to get out as it was a complete redo from scratch to replace all of the outdated previous version.
Current version: 2023/10/07 - Standard Doors - Turbolift Doors - Future Imperfect Doors - Panels - Straight Arch corridor section - K-Arch - Hathaway Warp Core and warp conduits - Button panels (long and small) - Small capsule Labels - Alcove Console (used in med lab, science lab and many other off-ship locations) - Shuttlebay (series 1& 2) - Shuttlebay (series 3-7) - Holodeck and arch (now including arch panels and Control PADD) - Cargo Bay (cargo lifter and cargo transporter) - Jefferies Junction
Note: there was a format change part way through the project to make things easier for me, so some of the pages are still in the old portrait format. These will be updated to the new format in later editions.
These plans have been produced for non-commercial fan creations / productions. It is not this plan's intention to encourage any commercial activity regarding the Star Trek properties. Star Trek is copyright Paramount Global
Set Blueprint Archive
The new version of the Set Blueprint Archive is now live. Covering set blueprints, CGI models, LCARS, concept art, panoramas, my reverse engineered blueprints and the physical models.
archive.frogland.co.uk
The big new addition is the Physical Models section - various ships, stations, figures, and miniature sets.
The history of the Archive can be read here - https://www.tumblr.com/startreksetplans/708365341243424768/the-set-blueprint-archive?source=share
Do you know if higher-res scans of the Voyager Astrometrics plans have ever surfaced? I'm about to start (re-)building that set for a fan project of mine, the blueprints we have are good for establishing the shape and proportions of the outer walls but it looks like they also have some measurements to them that would be really helpful. I've tried enhancing the scans we have with various AI tools but looks like they're way too small for that to work.
I found this one just recently
For scale - door is 48" wide
The Set Blueprint Archive
Archive : http://archive.frogland.co.uk/
I run a site called the Set Blueprint Archive. Its aim is to archive and make available the blueprints used to create the various sets of Star Trek shows and movies.
There is also an RSS feed to be notified of additions to the archive - http://archive.frogland.co.uk/plugins/rss/
It started back in 2014, I had found that several websites that once had images of set plans were returning "Error 404" - website dead. So I placed all the ones I had saved in archive and reached out to the TrekBSS community. They shared their images and the archive grew.
Since then, myself and many members of TrekBBS have sought out auction photos, book scans, and images from websites. Some of us have been fortunate to acquire original set blueprints and scan them for the archive.
Recently our efforts to preserve have widened the scope and added images of the CGI models and photos of the LCARS.
As extensive as the archive is, there are still large gaps. So I work on reverse engineering the sets using the blueprints as a start. These projects (Runabout Project, Voyager Project, and Galaxy Project) are released incrementally, with each PDF file under a creative commons licence.
Hopefully these resources can help with others with their own projects - fan art, fan films etc.
Phase II bridge blueprints
Phase II - the cancelled Star Trek television series that was turned into The Motion Picture. As part of this conversion, the sets were modified to fit the new style.
This is the Phase II bridge top down:
Here is my transcribed and annotated version:
Although the helm platform is different to the TMP, we can get several useful measurements for any TMP 3D models.
The bridge radius is 18' (measurement from the 17'9 to helm edge and 3" from that to the centre point).
The 3" was a bit challenging as that section is on a fold - it couldn't be measured and the number only has the top part legible. Based on other "3"s in the blueprint, I am mostly certain of this number.
We also have a scan of the wall profile and console
As these wall sections were used with only extra detailing added, it again can be used for TMP recreation.
The Phase II viewscreen would have been cut out of one of the wall sections and the cut panel repurposed as a display in the briefing room
Ultimately the viewscreen was cut wider than a single panel, as it would appear in TMP.
A filming test for TMP was done on the unfinished Phase II bridge to see if it would hold up for the movie screen. The people are wearing the costumes made for Phase II.
The equipment next to the view screen (a bridge transporter) would be removed as part of the TMP conversion of the set.
