Istg people think Gale Hawthorne is like, the devil. I get that a lot of people dislike/hate him but some of the takes I see online are just insane. "Gale would have killed Katniss if he was in the Games with her" um. No he wouldn't. "Gale would have abu$ed Katniss if they ever got married" HELLO?! WTF "Gale would have used the One Wish Willow to make Katniss love him like Bear in Obsession" NO HE FCKING WOULDN'T?!?! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?! Where is this coming from?! You don't hate to like him but why are you making him out to be the monster? It's tough out here as a Gale defender

With the popularity of Obsession booming, I keep seeing the trend in what characters would be in Nikki's position (the victim) and who would be in Bear's position (the wish maker) the amount of times people say Gale would make the wish on Katniss is INSANE.
You really think that Gale, who advocated for freedom for all the districts, was so anti-oppression that he joined a war, raised by a single-mum and stood against EVERYTHING THE CAPITOL WAS would make such a horrifying wish? With Katniss as the victim?
Yes, Gale loved Katniss, and in some scenes, might've manipulated her slightly to make him seem more favorable compared to Peeta, but he also accepted her rejection and left the district after Prim's bombing, knowing she would never pick him. He didn't argue, didn't force her to see his side, he accepted it.
Again, people let their hatred for Gale blind them and they fail to recognize he's not the black-and-white, all evil character that BookTok makes him out to be.
He would not make the wish, and he would be disgusted with those who would.
