' oliver, dear ... ' garry approaches with a small gift box. it's simple enough, with a bow on top, something she'd prepared herself— the stars didn't bring one when she'd purchased this little gift.
it's not so much about the box as it is about the contents, though. she'd waited until oliver had munched down the meal she'd prepared, a new recipe she'd been wanting to try out that turned out to be a huge success, according to him. with his hands all clean, she slides the box across the table, towards him.
' i got something for the both of us. ' opening it, he'll find two bracelets. a black band each, with a silver, flying fish attached. reaching in to slip into one of them, she grins, proudly.
' these will let us know if one of us is ... in a prickly situation. you know, i worry when you do the train drive from here to home all by yourself ... and with these bracelets, i'd know that you're alright throughout the journey. and vice versa! you'd see how dandy i am, sitting here, missing you. '
reaching out to ruffle through his hair, she squeezes his cheek a bit. there's more to it, of course. knowing he's in a city like spirale, living by himself, a whole ward away from her ... it's worrisome at best, and this seemed like a fitting solution. ' i'd say you don't have to wear it ... but i'd really love you to. '
You bet your ass Oliver is quickly finishing up, washing his hands, and making sure there's no sauce left around his mouth. When he's super duper sure, he's seated right back down.
"What is it?" He doesn't have to wait long because Garry's already opening the box. His eyes widen and his hands are placed on the table. He's pushing himself upward to get a better look at the bracelets. "HEY! They got fishes on 'em!"
His attention is back on Garry as she explains the meaning of the gifts. The last thing he wants is to worry her and the last thing he wants is for her to get in trouble in any way. Like that time he heard her voice. Could've sworn that was her voice.
His hair moves out of place. Not that his hair is ever neatly made, but Garry's action certainly has made it a little more wild. He doesn't mind though. he likes it. "Hehehe!" He giggles, swatting her hand playfully, "You miss me when I leave?" Oh, he's so bashful in the way that it makes him happy that there's someone there who misses him.
"Garry, I'm NEVER taking this off." Oliver's slipping on the bracelet and he comes out to give her a BIG FAT hug.
"You don't have to worry about me though! I'm always staying out of trouble!"
