It's not exactly in his place to explain further into context there and luckily it seems like Sun isn't going to ask either. Phew.

"Oh sounds like you're all set then! I'll take the toothbrush to the bathroom, you can go ahead into my room to put your stuff there. Good to have them close yeah? "

" I'll be there in a bit! We can pick what to do after that hm? "

"Oooh."

He doesn't get it, but he'll probably learn about it soon enough, he thinks.

"Okay! I'll do just that!"

With that, he's disappeared into Eiden's room, dropping his stuff down and then climbing onto the guy's bed, a little hesitant. It's comfy.

「壊滅」 ;; "Don't know who the fuck Bentley is," Grimmjow rumbles, eyes going back to what would have been the dark horizon, instead lit up with seemingly endless artificial light. "Don't care, either."

"But he's right, about callin' you stupid. 'Specially if you're choosin' ta' be here and not want a fight, thinkin' it's any sort a' good idea."

He hasn't returned to the edge of the building just yet. Instead of one leg hanging lazily downward, they both sit in front of him, knees bent and both feet firmly on the concrete after scrambling backwards. He's halfway tempted to kick a leg out at the other as the kid glances downwards, see if he was quick enough to catch himself before being sent tumbling over.

"Anyone ever tell you you talk too much, too? Ask too many questions?" He's not about to admit that the proverbial nail had been hit on the head; that those were exactly the reasons why he'd found himself up here, especially not to this brat.

As if to punctuate Grimmjow's point yet another great light bursts up into the sky, the resounding boom reverberating down through his fucking bones. At this rate, it might almost be better to rejoin the hated throng, if it meant getting away from all this. At least he doesn't flinch this time.

"No....not really," he admits quietly. Around Bentley, Sun rarely talked. Only spoke when spoken to. It was rare for him to speak comfortably, and those times, it was when Bentley’s friend kept an eye on him.

Here? He learned he could talk freely. Laugh whenever he wanted, climb trees, and climb HIGH places whenever he wanted. He was free to do whatever he wanted, and he wouldn't get in trouble for it.

"But if I talk too much or-or ask too many questions, I know how to be quiet." He looks to Grimmjow briefly before his eyes wander back up to the sky. So loud. Though something about those lights gives him dejavu of some sort.

"Do you think that if we flew, we could touch it? I heard you can touch clouds, so...."

"Monkey King? I don't believe I know him." Surely someone with a name like that is someone Octavo would have remembered. Is he an actual monkey? Would that be rude to ask?

"I do know plenty of others who'd protect you if you asked for help, myself included." He nods, placing a hand on his chest. "I might be a bit mischievous, but I don't want to see anyone hurt unduly."

"Even you?" Sun asks curiously. He thought Octavo was just being mean earlier, but he's actually a good guy!

That makes him feel a little more relieved.

"I'd protect you if you needed it, too," He then says with certainty.

" Err, well... let's call it oomph? " Eiden starts really pondering over what word to pick, " maybe gusto? "

" Well. All you have to know he's going to have a good time but he needs a little bit space for it. "

He then places the snacks on the kitchen table. They can pick up them from there after everything else is set up.

" Yeah! Do you mind? I promise I won't kick you asleep hehe", Eiden starts, " oh and do you got your toothbrush with you? Everything else? "

"Oomph? Gusto?" Sun doesn't know it, but he's putting these in his vocabulary! He'll remember it when the time comes, for sure.

"Okay." He says with a smile and nods, "I can give Monkey King space for a good time!" Though it would have been nice to be invited. Monkey King usually invited him to some fun things, but maybe this time wasn't for him. Hm.

"Okay. Mhm. Yeah! Monkey King helped me pack everything I need." He's opening his bag, "I have that, a brush for my hair. Uh...clothes for sleeping."

"How odd then, that the Stars would bestow it..."

This poor young man seems terrified at the prospect. Octavo drops any lingering lightheartedness in his tone, lowering his voice. "I apologize for grabbing it from you. I was just teasing, I really meant no harm. If this man is a danger to you, I'm certain you can find someone to protect you, should he ever show up."

Octavo's tone shifts. He apologizes and Sun is quick to accept it. "You didn't know. It's okay. It's okay..." He looks over his shoulder at the staff. Maybe he will call Monkey King to pick it up after all. It wouldn't feel right to touch it.

"....Monkey King will, huh?" He asks. His attention is back on the guy. "He always cleans me up when I get injured. He'd protect me, right?"

" Oh, that's... haha... "

A bit of an awkward laugh is paired with a shrug.

" The gramp's still got it huh... Good for him. "

He then turns around to head over to the kitchen, gesturing Sun to follow after.

" Whatever though, fun to have you here! Been a while actually... I got a spacious bed so we can sleep there. "

He doesn't have the heart to have him sleep anywhere else after all.

"Gramps? Got what? What did Monkey King got?" He asks curiously, tail flicking about as curiosity grows.

He's following behind Eiden at least. Knuckles brushes against the ground and pitter-patters barefoot on the hardwood floors.

"You want me to sleep on the bed with you?"

Even in his own room, even with a bed there, Sun slept in the corner of the room. Some things just didn't fix themselves overnight.

Touching things that didn't belong to him was, in fact, one of the reasons Octavo was in his situation back home. He still wants to touch the staff, and this fellow wasn't giving him any straight answers.

"Whose is it, then? Are they in the city? I assume they must be, if their weapon is here. Perhaps I should take it to them. I can teleport, it'd be no problem at all."

"It's Bentley's."

The back of his neck burns a little bit. "It's Bentley's..." He repeats. Sun shakes his head, though at Octavo's suggestion. "He's not here. The Stars didn't bring him, but it still belongs to him. He said it was his."

What if the stars brought him? Then what?

「壊滅」 ;; Fast as lighting Grimmjow's head whips around at the revelation that he was not alone as he had thought. The backs of his ears burn with it, especially at the fact that it was this fucking kid that had been the one to see him flinch.

"Not you again," he growls, eyes rolling.

"You don't even look a fuckin' iota different than when I saw you last." Never mind the fact that Grimmjow didn't, either; stagnation that pinprick stabs into every muscle and nerve and tendon with its inescapable presence always seemingly stings with a thousand little pressure points.

No Stars' blood staining his palms. The same paltry strength.

Makes him want to gnash his teeth and spit up blood.

This kids' wont quench the way he needs it to.

"Thought I told you I'd kill you if you weren't ready ta' fight me. You stupid or somethin'?"

Sun happily moved over to Grimmjow, but stopped just close enough. "Oh, well..." He shifts on his feet and hands. Pebbles are tossed to the side as he tries to find words to say.

He really hasn't been different at all. No powers have been returned. The staff did not count, even if, on occasion, that thing followed him, weirdly. Sometimes he thought he'd hear it talk to him. Which was even more weird. Something he'll ask Monkey King about.

For now?

"But I'm not here to fight you. Bentley says I'm stupid." He answers both questions with ease.

"I was up here because there are so many people down there." He peeks over the edge with a frown. Reminds him of how crowded it got back in the fighting ring. "I don't like it," He admits. His eyes meet Grimmjow next.

"Is that why you're up here, too? Because it's way too crowded down there? It's loud and all." Though he doesn't know if ANY loud noises could beat what just happened in the sky.

"Do you know what that whole thing was?"

For now, Octavo stays where he is, though he does glance at the staff where it lies. "Of course. Nobody wants to get in trouble." Patently untrue, but he goes on.

"What sort of trouble are we talking about, though? Are you going to be shouted at, or are you at risk of being harmed? Because that seems a tad unreasonable to me when my touch hasn't damaged the thing at all."

Sun's reminded of the kind of trouble he'd get into. He only touched the staff twice before without Bentley watching, and when he found out or when Sun was caught....

He hated every second of it.

Caged like a wild animal, beaten, starved.

"Still, you can't touch it. If it isn't your's, you shouldn't touch. That's how you get in trouble."

He doesn't answer Octavo's question, even.

" Sun! "

He blinks at his sudden appearance but opens the door, of course.

" Did he now? I wonder what's up with that.... " Pause.

" Actually maybe I shouldn't ask, I'm happy to see you anyway! Come on in - and let me take some of those off your hands hm? "

He gently tugs one of the bags.

Sun happily gives Eiden the bags of snacks. He even has a small bag of clothes for himself, too. Everything Sun needs is in the bag for just the one-night stay.

"Well," oh, he's gonna answer him anyway, "Monkey King was talking to a tall person, and they looked like they got along really well. Then Monkey King asked me to have a 'sleepover' with you and sent me here."

At Eiden's door, the bell rings. Sun is waiting for him to answer with his hands and mouth full of an assortment of snacks, per Monkey King's treat!

When the door opens, Sun greets happily,

"MonkeyKingshentme!" he says with the bag between his teeth

Odd, nothing seems to have happened-

The next thing Octavo knows, he's been tackled to the ground. He drops the staff in favor of trying to fend off Sun's fists. "Stop- stop it!!" He slaps at Sun a few times before teleporting out from under him, reappearing a few feet away. "Fine! I'll put it down. Good gods, you didn't have to attack me." Frowning, he brushes off the front of his shirt.

Perhaps he was being a bit of a hypocrite here. He would have done the same thing if someone had grabbed the Lute. "What do you mean, you'll get in trouble?"

It's clear Sun's in distress by how he is so much lower to the ground now. As if he wasn't already kissing the ground with how low he was prior. Still, he stands in front of the staff, in between Octavo and it. Sure, Octavo could easily teleport again if he wanted to mess with the staff.

"I-I'll get in trouble," He repeats.

"This isn't mine. It....it's supposed to be Bentley's. B-But I'm letting only Monkey King touch it. I can't---You can't. No one else can. We'll get in trouble. I don't wanna get in trouble."

"Not allowed? I assume that rule doesn't apply to me."

Octavo reaches out and grabs the staff, twirling it once. While he isn't much of a weapons guy, the idea of touching a forbidden staff intrigues him. Maybe he'll die instantly!

"Hu-!??" Sun nearly chokes on air from how surprised he is when Octavo just up and grabs Ruyi Jingu Bang. The only other person who was okay to touch it was Monkey King. And even then, Sun worried and was fearful that he would get in trouble by Bently. It took everything in his power to not react.

Not this time, though. He tries, but...

One moment Sun was frozen in place, eyes wide and watching as Octavo twirls the weapon and then the next?

He's on top of Octavo, screeching and throwing his fists against the man's chest. "Y-YOU CAN'T TOUCH IT! YOU'LL GET IN TROUBLE---YOU'LL GET ME IN TROUBLE!"

"What have you got there?" The way the young man is staring at the staff makes it seem like he's nervous, even fearful of it. "Did someone leave their weapon behind?"

"It's...Monkey King's," he ends up saying after some thought. "It was at home, but....It keeps following me wherever." There weren't any abilities behind it, and yet it stuck around him, somehow.

"I'm not allowed to touch it. S--So...So I'm hoping it goes back home on its own."

Seeing the enthusiasm made Chris nod back, his eyes sparkled if one could see real close to his eyes. He was just as excited to find a friend and someone to eat ice cream with. Although his expression seemed neutral.

How cute the other could make little monkey noises! "Of course, you can get many green ones as you want... I like the strawberry ones." As they begin to walk to the near by shop, and the other begin to introduced themselves. Christopher couldn't help but reply back.

"Christopher or Chris for short. Its nice to meet you, Sun... how long have you been in the city??"
