lol i know this feel. but y'know, not struggling over something doesn't mean you're lazy or that the work you've accomplished holds any less value than others. in these cases, it seems more so like you have people who just really care about you and who want to provide for you. not everything needs to be a battle -- we all fight those sooner or later, in our own ways. just let the pieces fall where they may, while they may.

I already got you covered on the friends thing.

As far as bathroom etiquette goes, just go. If you stop a lecture to ask to use the bathroom, the class will be annoyed and the professor will be ticked that you interrupted their brilliance with an unrelated question. The thing about post-secondary is, there’s nothing forcing you to be there. If you want to get up and leave in the middle of lecture, then get up and leave in the middle of lecture. Just do so as quietly as possible so you don’t disrupt the lecture itself because it can be a distraction to both the professor and the other students. If it’s only an hour long lecture, I recommend either going before the lecture or holding it for the end, just so you don’t miss out on anything since it’s such a short time. Any lecture longer than that, you will probably get a break (unless your professor is cruel, in which case you can without a doubt not feel bad about getting up and walking out if you really need to pee).

Most professors will probably cover stuff like that (breaks, what they do and don’t accept in the classroom, etc) on the first day. Most just ask that if you think/know you’ll have to get up and leave at some point during the lecture that you sit on the outside of a row rather than the middle. That way you don’t have to climb over other students to get out.

But yeah, no, you don’t have to ask to go to the bathroom. Welcome to adulthood.

just wanted to say that I love your doctor who posts and how excited and thoughtful you are about each aspect of it. i always agree with the things you say, too. sometimes it feels like i'm the only one who is still engaged in the show, and your posts really reassure me that people still love it as much as i do. thanks for that :)

I know I rarely blog about DW to the extent that I used to and there’s a very valid reason for that but I’m still so fucking hyped about every single thing about the show and like, even if Moffat decided to, I dunno, turn the Doctor into a cat, I’d still be so fucking into it because Doctor Who is really important to me so thanks mate, honestly, this means a lot.
