Gal walked into the office and whistled, it looked nice, damn nice. She glanced around to make sure she was alone then headed for the desk, picking up what looked to be a very fancy pen. She had just slipped it into her jacket when the door behind her opened, she whirled, putting on her most innocent face as Hades walked in, his blue hair looking pathetic, un-lit and over gelled.
“Put it back.” He snapped.
“Most people start with Hello.” She replied, smiling sweetly at him.
“Hello, put it back.” Gal rolled her eyes and pulled the pen back out of her hidden pocket, tossing it on the desk.
“That pen could feed me and my mates for a week.” She pointed out.
“Two weeks.” He corrected her, pointedly ignoring her eye roll. “I want to hire you and your band of merry idiots.”
“Anyone ever tell you you’re a real charmer, King of the Underworld?” Gal reached out and picked up another knick knack and plopped down in a chair.
“I don’t need Charm. I have money, and that’s what you and your gang are after, isn’t it?” He asked. She looked thoughtful then shrugged.
“Yeah.” she admitted.
“Great.” He crossed the room, the hem of his dramatic black coat nearly slapping her. “I need you to steal for me.”
“You’re Hades, can’t you just take it?” She asked.
“No, it would start more problems than it’s worth.”
“Okay. What is it?” She turned her body so her legs were slung over the arm of the chair.
“A spell, out of Maleficent’s spell book.” That caught her attention.
“Just one spell? Or the whole book?”
“Just one spell.” Hades confirmed. “Obviously I can’t ask my ex for it.”
“Obviously.”
“So? Can you get it done? Can I trust you?” That brought a smile to the young woman’s face.
“wouldn’t count on it. but you can, if you will.”
