The Inner Game
My head band director, the wonderful David Carbone, recommended a list of books to me prior to the winter break. I woke up around 3 AM on Monday and couldn't get back to sleep (not surprising, considering I wake up at 3:30 AM on weekdays), so I started reading "The Inner Game of Tennis" by Galwey.
I read it straight through.
It has changed my entire perspective on performance. Later that morning, I had to perform my All-State etudes for my band directors, and I've never had a better performance as when I utilized Galwey's philosophy.
THE BOOK CHANGED MY LIFE IN ONE MORNING, PEOPLE.
I'm going to be reading "The Inner Game of Music" and a few other books this week - I'll post about them too. If you're a performer in any field, or just someone looking to improve their life in any way, I can't recommend this book enough.
