what, do i look like someone who gets emotional over how their roles lines get more and more entangled with each other until their paths are indistinguishable and how ralsei especially becomes more involved all because susie said no to playing the "correct" way????? do i ????? 😭

I honestly appreciate Mouthwashing and what it does for its genre of game storytelling. It's plot is beautiful because of its subtlety, and there's no need to use the characters more than they do in that moment. You understand in the end of the little moments and tense uncertainty that the characters are all human, but one's own sick actions dominoes into the other, and there should be no forgiveness until... Well you know.

How did these age so well??? I remember lil' old me in like the early 2010s being absolutely blown away by how good this looked, but when I look back at it more than a decade later they still hold up incredibly well. Like what the fuck that's fascinating.

For reference, Prince of Persia came out in 2008. Its fully rendered cutscenes looked like this

It didnt look bad for the time but holy shit Sonic Unleashed had some astonishing rendered cutscenes.

People, including myself, have always knocked on Sonic And The Secret Rings last cutscene, but it is honestly so sweet.

Sonic wishing for handkerchiefs so his friend could cry so she could process her grief was SO brilliant. It is a wonderful message for kids and tells them that crying is okay. 

I was a very emotional kid and cried a lot when I was upset or when something frustrated me (The same is true today) and because of this I was often told “big kids don’t cry.” and was scolded for being emotional. 

This was a message that I needed when I was younger and one that I wish I took seriously.

It is a message that I am grateful to today.

Harvest Moon: Animal Parade

I’ve been in a bad place these past couple weeks, so I’ve been trying to do things that make me feel a lot better and get my mind in a better place. 

So, for the first time in a long time I booted up my Nintendo Wii and played Harvest Moon: Animal Parade. By Goddess have I missed this game, it brought me back and reminded why I loved this game so much and still do. Sure the new Harvest Moon games look pretty and have without a doubt improved in small ways (character customization).To be perfectly honest though, I would much rather play a game with amazing characters that have development as well as good backstories than be able to customize my character. 

There’s more to a character than looking pretty/handsome,like a good backstory and development.

Roids: Worked really hard on this for some reason :D Gave it my all! I’m happy with this version in particular. Has a really nice aesthetic to it I think.
