“I’ll try to post more often this year!” I’m such a BOZO 😭 AP classes were boxing with me and I was losing with the amount of homework I had 💔 I’m out for the summer though, so I thought I’d post some things I made in the past few months!
I’m so sorry for not keeping up with my word 💔 I’m a lot more active on discord
Name: Game Guy
Debut: Mario Party 3
What a cute little fellow! A Shy Guy- darling by default- with a charming purple bow tie! Very spiffy. He would like to play some Games! Indeed, Game Guy has declared it time for a Game Guy Game. Would I like to play his games? Hell No!
Game Guy's Games are all luck-based. The worst kinds of games! I'm in control of my own destiny, bub! The presence of luck to spice things up is always welcome, but if it's all there is, then that's not fun. That's just gambling! I don't want to gamble. I want to play Super Mario! No one celebrated the presence of luck-based minigames in Mario Party: The Top 100. No one celebrated anything about that game, besides maybe Mario's snazzy sequined suit on the cover, but the point stands.
Even if they are all luck-based, though, Game Guy does have the decency to make multiple games with different mechanics and presentations. Look! This one is about Chain Chomps eating cake. You have to bet on whether the reliable big one or the little underdog will finish eating first. That's whimsical, I must admit! Maybe gambling is cool after all... eep! Don't listen to me, kids!
Of course, it is silly to be all "get this luck-based nonsense out of here" when talking about Mario Party, a game built on luck-based nonsense. I guess it's just not for me! And that's okay. I have never played Mario Party 3, and have never, by chance, landed on a Game Guy Space. But what if you wanted to visit him WITHOUT leaving it to chance?
You could visit Game Guy's Room! Just barge in there! Inside this Room lurks Game Guy, inhabitant of Game Guy's Room. He's the one being pointed at, so you don't mistake anyone else here for him. Here you can play any of his games you want, to practice and hone your skills for the next time he ropes you into one of his twisted games. Just kidding. It's still luck based. You can't get better at that.
I am curious! For those who have played Mario Party 3, what is your opinion of Game Guy? Maybe people hate him! Maybe people hope that the restrictions on depicting gambling in video games mean that Game Guy is dead forever. Would you like that? Would you be glad if Toad took Game Guy out back and shot him?
Paper Mario: The Origami King introduces Emcee Shy Guy! These are more like Extroverted Guys, am I right? He is almost identical to Game Guy, but his bow tie is smaller and pinker. He's BASICALLY the same character... but I have a feeling there must be at least one person who strongly prefers one over the other. Good, I say! That's what life is all about!
HEYY! This is GAME GUY from Mario Party 3 reimagined in the modern paper mario style. I WOULD LOOOOOVE to see more of him. He just screams shady business guy that no one else really in the mushroom kingdom would. Like a more proactive and presentable Don Pianta. Well i miss him severly, and wish we got to see him again
