Chapter updates as you can see have slowed down quite a bit, it's taking longer and longer for things ingame to happen, hence why I changed the writing style as well. I think we might actually be near the end of the game!
Game Note 3 (spoilers)
So, I didn’t expect two show characters being introduced so fast, but that’s how it goes, Antauri was rolled from a character event that happens once per save when all colonists are downed. If something bad like this happens again, most likely another character isn’t gonna come in to save them.
Mandarin did indeed get kidnapped, there’s a chance the game will give me an opportunity to get him back at some point, but it could take a while. I’ll keep an eye on the world npcs to make sure the game doesn’t delete him. But we’ll see how it goes, maybe we won’t see him again, which I’d be sad if we didn’t, he’s really grown on me and I was enjoying the character arc he was having. [’:
Game Notes
Hi, this is a game note, basically where I post little bits on how I think things are going/any info I want to say! [:
There will most likely be times where not a lot happens ingame, in these cases, I’ve decided that I will combine multiple days into one. This way, there is atleast something to write about even if it’s not super exciting. I try to make up some stuff like Mandarin breaking his communicator and things like that, so it’s not just a complete retelling of the games events.
I have also decided to throw in a random factor of OCs being introduced into the storyline, these OCs will be completely randomly generated by the game. There is also always the chance that an OC will be randomly generated without me doing anything, but it’s not very likely to happen, and sometimes they won’t even join the colony. The chances of someone from the show cropping up will be much more likely than an OC when a colonist joins through my randomizer. (I was thinking if there was interest, people could throw me their OCs and we’d put them into a possible roll list for when an OC is chosen to join, feel free to send me an ask or let me know on the OC discord)
Other than that, I think the game is going decent so far, research is passively being done in the background as I find this better than struggling with one character to do it all. Mandarin is very busy. :’D
I’ll find a storyline way that makes sense for new things being built that Mandarin didn’t know how to do before, he may find notes, get info from traders and such to learn how to do things through the game.
Concerning deaths, I don’t want the game to end because Mandarin gets sick and dies lol, in this type of case I will cheat the illness away if it’s going to kill him, but perhaps I’ll give him a bad trait or something like that to make up for it. I want the story to have good deaths and a decentish ending atleast, I don’t want it to just end and we never find out what happened. That’s not super fun.

then put conditional or rare threats at certain spots (wolf at rabbits 30% of time) to make them not always reliable in face of danger
