A Writer's Muse Progress Post #3
I took a break from working on the town and am instead working on Theo's cafe... trying to think of a name, or if it should even have a name?

Today, on Local Dumbass Gamer...
I found out WHY I had plumbing issues. I goofed up on remodeling the plumbing and forgot that input and output pipes are a thing. And they frustrate the hell out of me. It's fixed now, but I apparently had it backwards earlier. I could have just built a regular pipe, but I like the aesthetic. Also keeping it in case I have to build more pipes.
Also slowly venturing into icy areas. Hoping to find a steam geyser or another water source.
WEEEOOOO HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY 2 ME!!!!
but also check this out! iāve been working hard on Dreamsday Company: Daytime Reveries and have finished scripting and coding the first act! >:ā^) iām happy that iām pretty much finished with this 1st episode, so lemme just tell yāall what this game is!
Dreamsday Company: Daytime ReveriesĀ is the first half of the Dreamsday Company games. Itās a 2-part series (14 episodes; 7 per game) that Iāve basically reconstructed from an old RPGMaker fangame to an original visual novel that i pitched to a couple of my classes at college. it serves as a spinoffĀ āside-storyā to a couple characters from another project of mine that i plan on bringing back in the future with a few friends. DDC stars four different protagonists that you, the player, will control and bring together!
PROGRESS REPORT:
6 CGs finished (1 animated).
4 characters have been fully sprited; expressions included.
GUI polishing; dialogue/fonts/choice interface updated.
5k word count!
my next goal is to get the main menu finished up, as well as the game menu and other buttons to be polished. i almost plan on creating more character sprites for the others that make a debut in the later episodes :ā) iām not sure if i should make a devblog or not for this game though. iām also thinking of releasing some sort of demo once episode 2 is finished but the idea is totally up in the air right now! but if anyone has any questions or suggestions, feel free to drop them in my askbox!

I am working on a bigger project (the full game for A Writer's Muse; my horror RPG Maker game) and so I thought I'd start posting progress on it to encourage myself to work on it more.
Right now, I'm working on one side of the town's main street for the map in Aseprite. I'll be putting the tileset into RPG Maker MV afterwards :) Working on a pharmacy/makeshift hospital at this moment.
the sword of voldiir is at 45,000 words :3 I am also into Act IV now, which is the final act before the epilogues. it's a long one tho, and there may be another boss fight looming in the distance....

Working on a title screen concept
Well, mission complete. I REALLY want to pick up Goro now and might on an alternate account. Iāll be around soon because exams are also done
Friday night updates
Hello, so I'm gonna be getting hilariously more persistent about development on tumbleweed simulator here over the next month since I'll be launching the kick starter some time soon. If all goes well and I get the promotional material ready I want to launch next week.Ā Some revision on the kick starter page as well as some more art all of with I'm getting together. It's nothing worth showing here since it's all banners and guff that will be on the kick starter page. However I'm nearly done with some environment art I'll be posting this week end. Wahoo art! as far as development goes I'm pretty much gonna need to rebuild the entire game again. I did a recent upgrade do to some bad BSODing and the save must have just not copied properly so it crashes as soon as I close a blueprint window :P. no big deal it forces me to look at setting up the physics from the get go so it would be a lot more consistent and easier to build scenarios around. I really can't make an amazing map for the demo so I'm gonna make a simple soccer game instead. And that means fun with UI and HUD development in UE4! something that seems to be a mine field of confusion. I did manage to find someone who explained it here Ā Ā
video is not mine I'm just gonna use it for reference
I wouldn't suggest using headphone with that but it did show me what I needed to know to get buttons to work on the screen. Like I said I'm completely Ā reinventing the tumbleweed controller but for the soccer demo I'll keep the current one. What I need to add is a way to move the camera independent of the grass so it orbits it much like the 3rd person camera example. I'll be working on that after I build the soccer field :D.
Anyway that's enough writing for now, I'll have some nifty pictures for you soon ;P
